Find the best markets for kids as well as the other members of your family where your kids will have just as much fun playing as you will shopping!

We know it can sometimes be a struggle to take your kids shopping, when they have so much energy and all they want to do is run around and play. So why not spend the day out at one of Brisbane’s local markets where you can have the best of both words!

You can do your shopping or browse the market’s wares while your kids play, sing and dance to their hearts content! Lots have bands and/or musicians that can entertain most kids and make these markets our pick of the markets for kids in and around Brisbane!

We’ve listed some of the best markets located around Brisbane and the activities and entertainment they offer for the whole family.

Creative Markets, Loganholme

Address: Tudor Park PCYC, 71-78 Clarks Rd, Loganholme

  • 2nd Saturday of the Month
  • 8:00am – 1:00pm

The Creative Market hosts artisans selling a collection of handmade and unique items ranging from jams to handbags. They support a local pet rescue organisation each month as well as hosting community projects. Your kids can enjoy face-painting and a jumping castle, as well as dancing and singing to the live entertainment including musicians, artists and dancers. Find the market dates here.

The Mummy Tree Markets

Address: 56 Racecourse Road, Hamilton – St Augustine’s church

  • Select Saturdays and Sundays
  • 9:00am – 1:00pm

The Mummy Tree Markets are a boutique family market held at several locations around Brisbane. They are known for their unique products from clothes to household knick-knacks which are not only of high quality but are also hip and stylish. Rock A Buy Markets

The Rock A Buy Baby Markets hosts a family friendly atmosphere where parents can both buy and sell their children’s clothes, accessories and related items. The location provides large isles for prams and entertainment for both kids and parents alike including face-painting, live music, goody bags and special appearances from guests like Spider Man and Tigger to name a few. Eat Street Markets

Address: 221D MacArthur Ave, Hamilton

  • Every weekend of the year
  • Fri & Sat 4pm to 10pm, Sun 12pm to 8pm
  • $3 per entry (12 years old and under are free)

The original Eat Street Markets were opened in 2013 and have now been redeveloped into a mega family, food, fun market alongside the Brisbane River. The new site continues to use the shipping containers we know from the previous location but is further along MacArthur Avenue towards the mouth of the river. Full of food, music and atmosphere, this is a great venue for families that dont mind a crowd! See their map of stall holders here.

Northey Street Markets

Address: Northey Street City Farm, Windsor

  • Every Sunday from 6am to 11am

Riverside Markets

Address: City Botanic Gardens, Alice St & Albert Street

The Carseldine Farmers and Artisan Markets are home to premium and fresh produce, as well as quality fashion, jewellery and arts & crafts. It’s a perfect morning to spend out with the family where you can enjoy live music, a jumping castle and balloon animals for the kids, and the occasional visit from Cruizey Camel Rides. Eagle Farm Markets

230 Lancaster Rd, Ascot

  • 7:00am – 12:30pm
  • $2 ENTRY FEE (Children under 15 FREE)

The Eagle Farm Markets are home to a range of gourmet foods, fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers, crafts and all sorts of other wares. There is live music and new entertainment for kids each week! Past activities have included a jumping castle and slide, as well as children’s entertainers who kids can sing and dance along with. Collective Markets

Address: 29 Stanley St Plaza, South Brisbane (South Bank)

  • Every Fri 5pm-9pm, Sat 10am-9pm & Sun 9am-4pm
  • FREE ENTRY

The Collective Markets are an outdoor market, open Fri-Sun, showcasing locally made crafts, jewellery, art, home decor & clothing. Jan Powers Farmer Markets

Address: Powerhouse, City, Manly & Mitchelton

  • Various opening times

The best of the Jan Powers Farmers Markets (in our opinion) are at the Brisbne Powerhouse. That’s because these kids markets are right next door to New Farm Park and are an easy place to do a little shopping followed by a little bit of playing with this kids in the playground. An icon of Brisbane’s food scene, the Jan Powers Farmers Markets are synonymous with championing local produce and with putting farmers markets firmly on the map. Find them here.

Howards Smith Wharf Precinct Markets

Howard Street Wharves

Howard Street Wharves, also known as Brisbane Central Wharves were originally built c. 1934 to 1940. The heritage listed area is being rejuvinated with a $110 million spend and the results are amazing! There will be markets when the location is opened later in 2018 … so watch this space!
