Kedron State High School’s curriculum and extra-curricular activities are vast and meet the desires of all students.
The school’s curriculum is based on the eight key learning areas. Year 8’s experience all key learning areas. Once students reach year 10 they are aligning with that of senior years. The senior curriculum covers Authority and Authority registered subjects, with each student selecting any six subjects. Extensions are available for English and music for senior levels, plus there are school-based traineeships and the Start QUT/Enhanced Studies Program (UQ).
Every student has the opportunity to participate in a sport at Kedron. The school participates in a range of region and state sporting competitions and has its own athletics track which is also by local primary schools. Kedron State High School is also fortunate to have a cross-country course which is used for district competitions.
Inter-house school carnivals, swimming, cross-county and athletics are organised by a house basis. Kedron houses are named after early governors of Queensland: Bowen, Griffith, Lutwyche and Wickham.
Students can join after school sports teams in softball, hockey, netball and rugby league.

- Excursions and international travel. Kedron State High School links with schools in Japan, China and France and co-ordinates a student trip every second year. Senior students are also offered an option to join a ski trip, and Spain has been added as an overseas cultural visit.

- Creative Industries for senior students have access and training to use the Studio Q5 facility, which has professional digital and analogue audio recording software and hardware, green screen and film production suite.
