Where are the Best Fireworks in Brisbane?

The only thing better than watching fireworks, is watching it with your Brisbane family! We’ve searched high and low and found all the fireworks displays in Brisbane for you and your family. There are LOTS of family-friendly events here and you can plan ahead, because we have listed them on a month by month basis. If we have missed any, let us know below in comments.

Update: COVID-19 has caused many major fireworks displays to be cancelled. The good news is there are still a number of local community events continuing with fireworks. Read on for details of where to find fireworks near you.

January 2021

Australia Day Tuesday 26 January

Australia Day Fireworks at South Bank – Cancelled for 2021 due to COVID-19

2021 Australia Day Celebration | Bribie Island

Join in the celebrations at the gorgeous Brennan Park, Bribie Island for an easy-going, Aussie time. Australia Day on Bribie Island is free to attend and one the whole family can enjoy. Food stalls,  and a fireworks finale from 8pm. Find out more here.

2021 Australia Day Party | Redcliffe

Aussie-themed festivities and free family fun will take over Suttons Beach, Redcliffe from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday 26th January for the Ultimate Australia Day guaranteeing families a ripper of a time at the beach. Hang around for the spectacular fireworks finale at 8pm. See our events calendar for more details.

February 2021

Chinese New Year, Fortitude Valley

Ok, so not quite fireworks, but head to the Valley to celebrate with firecrackers, lanterns, dancing and yummy food!

April 2021

Easter Fireworks in Brisbane

Bluewater Festival | Shorncliffe

  • 2 April 2021 – Good Friday 2021 (free) 
The Bluewater Festival is held on the scenic foreshore at Shorncliffe in conjunction with the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. It’s a perfect vantage point to watch the start of this iconic race plus an opportunity to see the Multihull Yacht race start up close off the Pier. Head to Lower Moora Park, Shorncliffe for FREE entry to the food festival, markets, entertainment throughout the day including live bands, kids’ activities, rides, and fireworks in the evening.

Ipswich Easter Spectacular | Goodna

Goodna Street Life presents the Ipswich Easter Spectacular over three days between Saturday 3 to Monday 5 April at Evan Marginson Park, Goodna. Get ready for live entertainment, rides, markets, and fireworks! This will be one BIG FREE Easter event for the whole family to enjoy. 9am-4pm.

Redcliffe Show, Redcliffe 

The Redcliffe Show is held at the Redcliffe Showgrounds. There is a firework display on the Saturday and Sunday night for the family to enjoy.

Mt Gravatt Show, Mt Gravatt 

The Mt Gravatt Show held at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds includes rides, show bags, food stalls, entertainment, fireworks and much more.

The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair, Mt Gravatt

How does a mini Ekka just 15km from the Brisbane CBD sound? The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair includes all the Ekka essentials including rides, a Sideshow Alley, show bags, and good old fashioned show food including strawberry sundaes. Yum!  Fireworks will be held on Friday the 28th of August.

Bonfire Night, Sandstone Point Hotel

 The Sandstone Point Hotel’s annual Bonfire Night is back to warm your winter night on Saturday 29th August! Bonfire Night has sold out for the past 4 years and it’s no surprise as the spectacular event has flame shows, pyrotechnics, fire twirlers, rides, live music, food, and dessert trucks and of course, fireworks!

Ekka, Ekka NITES, Bowen Hills

Pine Rivers Show, Lawnton

The Pine Rivers Show has nightly fireworks for your Brisbane Family to enjoy while the kids hunt through their showbags!

September

The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair, Mt Gravatt

How does a mini Ekka just 15km from the Brisbane CBD sound? The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair includes all the Ekka essentials including rides, a Sideshow Alley, show bags, and good old fashioned show food including strawberry sundaes. Yum!  Fireworks will be held on Friday the 5th of August.

Chinese Moon Festival, Fortitude Valley

Come and gather for a firecracker display in the middle of the Chinatown Mall. (not quite fireworks, but lots of fun!)

Sunsuper Riverfire, South Bank – This event has been reimagined into SunSuper Night Sky, a laser light spectacular

Algester State School’s Annual Multifest is full of fun. Fireworks display from 8pm.  The date is Friday, 30 October.

North Lakes Christmas Carols | North Lakes

There will be lots of family-friendly entertainment on offer, so everyone can get into the spirit of the season while enjoying performances by local community groups. So, bring your best vocals and a blanket to spread out, relax and enjoy a magical evening. You can even do some Christmas gift shopping at the twilight markets or grab a bite to eat from the food trucks onsite. Then finish the evening with a ‘bang’, watching the sky light up with a spectacular fireworks display!

This Boxing Day take the kids to see Monster Trucks and Sprint Cars live at Archerfield Speedway. Monster Trucks, Sprint Cars, Super Sedans, Stock Cars and Fireworks! That’s just a taste of the excitement waiting for your family at Archerfield Speedway!

New Years Eve Twilight Markets Redcliffe

Wave goodbye to the year that was (and good riddance) with Brisbane’s BEST Street Food, Family Entertainment, Games, Music, and TWO spectacular fireworks displays. The esplanade at Redcliffe is preparing to light up on Thursday 31 December with an exclusive outdoor, family-friendly event by the sea.

80s v 90s NYE Party | Bulimba – SOLD OUT

It’s time to dust off your dancing shoes for Bulimba Golf Club’s 80s v 90s New Year’s Eve Party! There are heaps of activities planned including two SPECTACULAR fireworks displays at 8pm and midnight, an inflatable waterslide, two big jumping castles, and face painting! Bookings required.

Spend One Night in Naples and bring la famiglia down to The Glen Hotel this New Year’s Eve for a Neapolitan experience like no other. Ipswich NYE Fireworks | Ripley, Rosewood & Ipswich Central

Look to the skies around Ipswich on Thursday 31 December with three firework shows set to herald in the new year from 9pm across the city. Each of the fireworks displays has been specially designed to be visible to as many residents as possible, with only aerial shells, which will be shot high into the sky, being used. Tivoli Drive-In Theatre | Tivoli – SOLD OUT

To celebrate the count-down to 2021, Tivoli Drive-In presents a wonderful evening of family fun and entertainment! Gates open at 4pm and there is plenty on offer with market stalls, roving entertainment and ‘Kids Cove’, where children can create LED balloon animals, join in Craft Corner, and be entertained by the “Bubble’licious Bubble Show with Clariissa White. The evening will wrap up with a fireworks finale at around 9.40pm. Get tickets here.

New Years Eve Celebrations | Helensvale

Gold Coast Gurdwara fireworks Brisbane

Join the Guru Maneyo Granth Gold Coast Gurdwara to bring in 2021!  Langar (free veg meal) will be served all day, and there will special activities for children. Listen to Guru’s baani with Kirtan and Katha from 12noon to Midnight. Fireworks will mark the occasion with two live shows, so make sure you don’t miss either the 7pm or 9pm displays.

Paradise Point NYE Fireworks | Paradise Point – BOOKED OUT

Take the kids to Paradise Point to see a spectacular FREE fireworks display at 9pm to bring in 2021! The fireworks will be launched from a barge on the water near the swimming enclosure. Bookings required. Find out more here.

Coolangatta NYE Fireworks | Coolangatta

Celebrate the last night of the year with a premier New Year Eve’s Fireworks display at Coolangatta featuring a 9pm (QLD time) show followed by a midnight finale. This is a public event and admission is free. While tickets are not required, you will need to ‘check-in’ on the day with your contact information. Find out more here.

NYE at Harley Park | Molendinar – BOOKED OUT

While this event isn’t quite FIREWORKS with so few options available we thought we’d share anyway. Enjoy a FREE laser and light show from 9pm with food trucks, live entertainment, face painting, and balloon artists. Entry by ticket only. See more about this event here.

NYE at Silver Bridle Park | Molendinar – BOOKED OUT

There won’t be any FIREWORKS at this event but the laser light show is the next best thing! This is a fun-filled family event for all ages. Gates open at 5.30pm with live entertainment, food trucks, and kids performers. The night will conclude at 9pm with a laser and light show. Tickets required. Event details here.

New Year’s Eve at Pelican Waters Tavern | Caloundra

Pelican Waters Tavern have a fun night planned with food specials and activities for the little ones! Treat the kids to a grand fireworks show from 8pm, supplied by KC’s Fireworks crew. NYE Fireworks at Waterfront Hotel | Maroochydore

New Years Eve at Waterfront Hotel is going to be a great family fun event! The fireworks will kick off from 9pm so take your family and friends along for dinner and enjoy the show!

Fireworks at Noosa River | Noosa

The Noosa River foreshore will come to life this New Years Eve for the family fireworks display at 9pm in front of Noosa Boathouse on Gympie Terrace. The annual 9pm fireworks display is presented by Noosa Boathouse and The Islander Noosa Resort in association with Noosaville Business Association. Grab your family & friends, a picnic or Fish & Chips and say farewell to 2020! Dinner bookings also still available at Noosa Boathouse, 250 Grammi and Frenchies Brasserie. Details here.
