The only thing better than watching fireworks, is watching it with your Brisbane family! We’ve searched high and low and found all the fireworks displays in Brisbane for you and your family. There are LOTS of family-friendly events here and you can plan ahead, because we have listed them on a month by month basis. If we have missed any, let us know below in comments.
Update: COVID-19 has caused many major fireworks displays to be cancelled. The good news is there are still a number of local community events continuing with fireworks. Read on for details of where to find fireworks near you.

Australia Day Tuesday 26 January
Australia Day Fireworks at South Bank – Cancelled for 2021 due to COVID-19
2021 Australia Day Celebration | Bribie Island
Join in the celebrations at the gorgeous Brennan Park, Bribie Island for an easy-going, Aussie time. Australia Day on Bribie Island is free to attend and one the whole family can enjoy. Food stalls, and a fireworks finale from 8pm. Find out more here.
2021 Australia Day Party | Redcliffe
Aussie-themed festivities and free family fun will take over Suttons Beach, Redcliffe from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday 26th January for the Ultimate Australia Day guaranteeing families a ripper of a time at the beach. Chinese New Year, Fortitude Valley
Ok, so not quite fireworks, but head to the Valley to celebrate with firecrackers, lanterns, dancing and yummy food!

The Mt Gravatt Show held at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds includes rides, show bags, food stalls, entertainment, fireworks and much more.
The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair, Mt Gravatt
How does a mini Ekka just 15km from the Brisbane CBD sound? The Mt Gravatt Fun Fair includes all the Ekka essentials including rides, a Sideshow Alley, show bags, and good old fashioned show food including strawberry sundaes. Yum! Fireworks will be held on Friday the 28th of August.
Bonfire Night, Sandstone Point Hotel
The Sandstone Point Hotel’s annual Bonfire Night is back to warm your winter night on Saturday 29th August! Bonfire Night has sold out for the past 4 years and it’s no surprise as the spectacular event has flame shows, pyrotechnics, fire twirlers, rides, live music, food, and dessert trucks and of course, fireworks!

Look to the skies around Ipswich on Thursday 31 December with three firework shows set to herald in the new year from 9pm across the city. Each of the fireworks displays has been specially designed to be visible to as many residents as possible, with only aerial shells, which will be shot high into the sky, being used. Celebrate the last night of the year with a premier New Year Eve’s Fireworks display at Coolangatta featuring a 9pm (QLD time) show followed by a midnight finale. NYE at Harley Park | Molendinar – BOOKED OUT
While this event isn’t quite FIREWORKS with so few options available we thought we’d share anyway. Enjoy a FREE laser and light show from 9pm with food trucks, live entertainment, face painting, and balloon artists. Entry by ticket only. See more about this event here.
NYE at Silver Bridle Park | Molendinar – BOOKED OUT
There won’t be any FIREWORKS at this event but the laser light show is the next best thing! This is a fun-filled family event for all ages. Gates open at 5.30pm with live entertainment, food trucks, and kids performers. The night will conclude at 9pm with a laser and light show. Tickets required. Event details here.
New Year’s Eve at Pelican Waters Tavern | Caloundra
Pelican Waters Tavern have a fun night planned with food specials and activities for the little ones! Treat the kids to a grand fireworks show from 8pm, supplied by KC’s Fireworks crew.
