Bluewater Festival | Shorncliffe
Organised by the Sandgate Bayside Chamber of Commerce, the much-loved Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe Pier is one not to be missed a memorable day out with family and friends by the bay.
This year’s festival runs from April 2 to April 4, bringing a mix of relaxed waterfront vibes, family entertainment, and Easter fun.
The festival kicks off on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, offering a more laid-back atmosphere with food, rides and pop-up music by the bay perfect for easing into the long weekend.
Friday is the main day, running from 9:30am to 8pm at Lower Moora Park, Shorncliffe. Expect markets, live music, food stalls, rides, kids’ activities and a visit from the Easter Bunny. The day wraps up with a beach party and fireworks in the evening.
On Saturday from 12pm to 8pm, the fun continues with rides and sideshow alley, giving families another chance to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
The Bluewater Festival is held on the scenic foreshore at Shorncliffe alongside the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, making it a great vantage point to watch the start of this iconic event.
Getting there:
Street parking is available within a 5–10 minute walk, though spaces are limited. Public transport is a great option – take the train to Sandgate Station, then hop on the shuttle to Shorncliffe followed by a short walk.
A crowd favourite, the trackless mini train will run on Good Friday from 10:30am to 5:30pm (gold coin donation), starting at Lovers Walk (corner of Cliff Street and Flinders Parade, Sandgate) with stops at Shorncliffe Pier.
Accessible parking, taxi and limited mobility drop-off is available off Park Parade near the Shorncliffe Pier car park.
