What curriculum and extra-curricular activities are offered at Watson Road State School?

The school has implemented the Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, the Arts, and Languages (Year 6). Students also learn Studies of Society and the Environment, Health and Physical Education, and Technology.

Watson Road State School has a high-quality Prep program that incorporates the Queensland Studies Authority Early Years Curriculum Guidelines and the emerging Australian Curriculum. Teachers are dedicated to providing a happy, nurturing environment for the first year of school. This important work in the first year is followed throughout every year at the school as students are nurtured and supported on their ongoing educational journeys.

The school also offers a transition to Prep program (Koala Joeys) on Friday mornings in Term 4.

Excursions are incorporated as part of some learning programs, and the school also provides the opportunity for Year 6 students to attend a camp. Musical, sport and community activities are offered to students at various times throughout the school year.
