Why choose St Pius X Catholic Primary School?

St Pius X is a Catholic co-educational school for Prep to Year 6. The school’s philosophy is centred on the Gospel of Jesus and its school motto, “Christ in All”, reflecting St Pius X’s motto “to restore all things in Christ”.

The school is part of a broader church community in the Moorooka/Salisbury parish, and works jointly with that community in providing support to parents in their task of educating children for life. The values underscoring every aspect of school life are those lived and modelled by Jesus.

St Pius X strives to achieve the highest standard of education in all areas of the curriculum, and keeps the school updated and equipped to meet the changing needs of modern life. The school recognises that the computer is a tool for learning, and not an end in itself.

Curriculum and extracurricular activities offered:

The key learning areas are: Studies of Society and the Environment (SOSE), Health and Physical Education, Science, Mathematics, English and Religious Education.

Year 6 students learn Japanese for 90 minutes each week.

The school’s sporting program includes swimming, athletics, tennis, team sports, and weekly physical education classes. Extra-curricular tennis lessons are also available on the St Pius X tennis courts.

There are several extra-curricular music programs including keyboard, guitar and drum lessons (during class time), and violin lesson (during class or before school). Students can also take part in speech and drama.

Facilities at St Pius X Primary School:

Classroom facilities extend from text-only environments to those using multimedia. Multimedia accommodates a wide range of individual learning styles, giving students the opportunity to learn in the best way for them. Incorporating computer technology enables students to explore and interact with information, and also create and express their own creativity.

St Pius X has 2 tennis courts, 2 cricket nets and an oval, and separate playgrounds for prep, juniors and seniors.

Other information:

Each year in August/September, students in year 6 attend a camp in Sydney/Canberra.
