St Catherine’s Primary School is a parish-based co-educational primary school that provides a quality, inclusive Catholic education. The school strives to be innovative, creative and achieve best practice by offering a broad-based curriculum.

The school is a Christ-centred community with a spirit of outreach, providing education to those who are marginalised. St Catherine’s values the uniqueness of the individual and collective diversity, and teaches students to have compassion, justice and courage.

Curriculum and extracurricular activities offered at St Catherine’s Primary School:

St Catherine’s Primary School uses the Australian Curriculum with specialist programs in Art, Health and Physical Education, Music, and Japanese (Languages Other Than English – LOTE).

There’s a broad variety of extra-curricular activities. Students take part in Interschool Sports competitions in Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, T-Ball, Football, AFL and League Tag. There’s also Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming.

The school has an instrumental program providing tuition for Strings and Piano. Students can join the concert band or school choir. There are also Speech and Drama activities, and the Dance Fever program.

Students can also join the Technology Club or the Chess Club.

Facilities at St Catherine’s Primary School:

A modern Resource Centre facility with up to date learning resources and computer lab for students to use.

A Multi-purpose Hall (Nano Nagle Centre) built in 2010 through the Commonwealth Government’s “Building Education Revolution” Grant.  As well as the Sports Hall, it also houses Music and the Outside School Hours Care facility.

The grounds of St Catherine’s Primary School are large and include a large Sports Oval, Junior Oval, Concrete Oval and Prep Play Area as well as a large covered Courtyard at the front of the School.

St Catherine’s Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located in the new Multi-purpose Hall. The OSHC aims to provide care that best meets the social, intellectual, physical, emotional and developmental needs of the child.
