Holy Spirit School has provided high quality Catholic Education in Pine Rivers since 1977.

We provide a comprehensive curriculum with a strong emphasis on the teaching of reading and maths. Specialist teachers deliver instruction in Music, Physical Education, Italian, Drama and Dance. Students can learn to play a variety of musical instruments as well as sing in our school Choir. Students can participate in a wide variety of sports and interschool sporting opportunities.

Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

Holy Spirit School’s learning areas are derived from the Australian Curriculum and the Queensland Studies Authority and include English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Technology, the Arts, Health and Physical Education, Italian (Languages Other Than English – LOTE) and Religious Education.

Specialist teaches take weekly classes in Visual Arts, Music and Physical Education, while qualified teacher librarians conduct weekly library lessons.

Students are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities to enhance their learning.

The Sports Program includes a variety of sports events throughout the year including a cross country carnival and school sports day. Year 6 students take part in the Interschool sports program.

Holy Spirit offers Instrumental Music lessons and the opportunity to be involved in the school musical. Students can also join lunchtime clubs such as the Science Club and the Chess Club.

Facilities at Holy Spirit School:

All classrooms have computers, and senior students are provided access to laptops. The School Centre (Library) also has a large computer lab, and is well resourced.

Other facilities include a recently renovated Administration Centre and Staff facilities, functional and modern Resource Centre with Computer Lab and Media Room, Tuckshop, covered Lunch areas, covered playground equipment, Sports Oval, School Hall including a Multipurpose Court, and Music and Drama Rooms.

The school holds an overnight camp for Year 5 students, while senior students take an extended trip to Canberra to enhance their learning about government.
