Why Choose Holy Spirit School?
Holy Spirit School New Farm is a co-educational Parish Catholic school for Prep to Year 6 that teaches its students to live the gospel of Jesus. The school teaches students to “know what is right”, through the ideals of service, dignity and compassion.
The school community works together to create a safe and productive environment in which students are empowered to challenge, enrich and transform their lives. The curriculum is taught with an outcome-focused approach to developing skills and attitudes for life-long learning.
The particular needs of Year 5 and 6 students are addressed in a middle schooling program that recognises the physiological, psychological and social re-orientation they experience at this age. The school provides a supportive and flexible environment that helps the students prepare for their transition to high school.
Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:
The curriculum is based around nine key learning areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Studies of Society and the Environment (SOSE), the Arts, Health and Physical Education, Cultural Literacy, Languages Other Than English (LOTE), and Religious Education.
Holy Spirit School New Farm has an extensive extra-curricular program to help build self-confidence and stimulate creativity.
Private lessons are available for piano, violin, keyboard and guitar, as well as Italian.
Students can take part in the Go Set Go Physical Education Program, and enrol for private tennis lessons. There is also an opportunity to represent the school in Catholic Zone and District level sporting events.
Art and Craft classes are also available.
Year 5 and 6 students at Holy Spirit School New Farm take part in school camps.
