Paws and Play: Table 26 in Chermside is Dog and Kid Friendly!

If you have got kids and a dog then you will want to know about the newest cafe that has opened at Westfield, Chermside. Table 26 is the latest ‘new kid on the cafe block’ and is both kid and pet friendly. Not only that, but it is right next door to 26 Paws, a cool new dog grooming salon. These are two businesses might seem to have very little in common, but as you will see as you read my review, they complement each other perfectly. And this is the first of its kind in a major shopping centre in Australia.

When we were asked to visit both Table 26 and 26 Paws to see what they had on offer for families, I leapt at the chance to get our furry girl groomed while we had a meal. Keep reading to find out more about both the cafe/restaurant and our dog grooming experience!

Location, location, location!

26 Paws
26 Paws entry – right next door to Table 26

Table 26 is right next door to 26 Paws which is perfect if you relate to two or more of the following statements:

  • ✅ I like to eat
  • ✅ I have children
  • ✅ I have a family dog
  • ✅ I am time poor

If you know Westfield Chermside, you will know that we refer to each part based on which large shop is nearby. You will find the cafe and the grooming salon at the ‘Woolworths’ end of the centre (some of us refer to this as the Dan Murphy’s end… because, you know… #parentingishard!) 😉

We were lucky enough to be able to try out both the restaurant and the dog grooming salon next door on our visit recently.

26 Paws – dog grooming

First stop for the visit was taking gorgeous Xyla in for her grooming session. She was checked in and a ‘before’ photo was taken. That’s her above – she’s so cute!

26 Paws is a 5 star doggie grooming experience for your pooch. But don’t just take my word for it, check out their Google reviews you will see they have all 5 star reviews. We knew she was in safe hands.

Look at her little face! 😍 She was completely happy getting a bath and a blow-dry. Xyla is a Finnish Lapphund; she has a double coat that is super thick and fluffy, so it was important to us that they knew how to care for her. After a chat with the experienced staff, we felt very confident that they understood about her specific needs; the staff were really lovely and knowledgeable about all types of family dogs!

Then we hit up the restaurant!

After Xyla had been checked in we headed next door to Table 26 for lunch.

Pet and kid friendly

The restaurant has gone the extra mile to make themselves truly a pet and kid friendly haven for families. They have a gated kids’ play area, so parents can enjoy their meal while children safely explore, play, and make new friends. They have a dedicated alfresco area where dogs are welcome and can enjoy a special dog menu. Master 3 loved the play area and we have promised to bring Xyla back to try the dog menu too!

Our lunch

When it comes to describing our lunch and the selection, their website says it best:

Our menu is a celebration of flavours, offering a wide array of dishes to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. Whether you’re craving comfort classics or exploring bold new flavours, our culinary team has something special in store for your taste buds.”

Our meals, pictured above were a hit! We also had 2 smoothies and Master 3 had a ‘Bluey themed’ banana milk. You can check out their full menu on their website here.

The booking procedure for 26 Paws was super easy. You just jump onto their website to choose the services you want and enter your details. You get text messages to confirm your booking and when your doggo is finished and ready to be collected, they send you a text message so you can pop back to collect them.

Jump on the 26 Paws website here to check out their range of services.

Look how lovely she looked (and I wish you could smell her because she also smelled amazing too!) I won’t be taking her to her favourite dog beach for a swim for a while….

So, like I said above, if you have kids, dog/s and like to eat and perhaps time poor, this might just be your new favourite place to hang out…. I know it is mine! If you go, let me know what you think in comments!
