Christmas Carols in Brisbane always guarantee a fun family night out due to the Queensland weather and unrivaled community spirit. So many community groups go above and beyond to spread Christmas cheer each year. The great news is we will see a lot of Christmas Carols in Brisbane events go ahead!

Christmas Carols signal that the festive season’s in full swing in shopping centres, on the radio and even when you’re on hold during a phone call… but nothing beats going to a live event to sing along and share the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Carols in Brisbane this year will be held in venues throughout the city. So you’ll know where and when they’re on, we’ve compiled the following list of recommended events.

Rotary Club of Mount Gravatt Christmas Markets | Mt Gravatt

The Rotary Club of Mount Gravatt’s Christmas Markets are perfect for Christmas catch-ups with your friends & family. This fantastic family-friendly FREE event with kids’ activities, amusement rides, jumping castle, rock wall, face painting, Christmas gift stalls, street food, carols, live music, a Christmas movie, and a visit from Santa is definitely not to be missed. A Christmas Song Carole Performance Logan

Christmas in Brassall Watch Party | Online

Grab the family, the dog, the neighbours, and everyone permitted in your social bubble, sit on the couch! (socially distanced of course!) and tune the television to the Christmas in Brassall Watch Party. Ipswich’s longest community run Christmas event is continuing in 2020, so look out for the link to the online broadcast from mid-November ready to tune in to a night of carols, community Christmas messages, and celebrate with those closest to you!

Saturday 28 November

A Medieval Christmas | Caboolture

Gregorian Chant Choir, Schola Cantorum, will perform a series of medieval chants and carols in the ambience of the Abbey Church in what is now a traditional commencement to Advent for the Abbey Museum. It is not only the eyes and ears which are treated to a feast, but also the taste buds, with the recital followed by an afternoon tea/ supper of delightful medieval Christmas treats! Entry is $42.50 per person. Bookings for A Medieval Christmas are essential!

To comply with COVID guidelines, two sessions are available.

  • Afternoon session: 4:00pm – 5:30pm
  • Evening Session: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Carols in the Reservoir | Spring Hill

Carols in the Reservoir

Be six metres underground, in a 150-year-old water reservoir, in Brisbane’s CBD, in Summer as the snow falls for your Christmas breakup at Carols in the Reservoir! What could be more mystical about Christmas than celebrating in the Spring Hill Reservoir, being serenaded by world-class performers singing traditional Christmas favourites with Carols in the Reservoir.

Thursday 3 December

Carols on the Green | Sanctuary Cove

A stellar lineup of local performers will sing on the night at Carols on the Green at Sanctuary Cove. The Paradise Carollers, Amazon Blue, Chad Trent & Becky Keen and Vanessa Krummenacher are just a few of the amazing performers starring in this years event. We’re also very happy to confirm that the much loved and celebrated Rotary Buggy Parade will take place again in 2020.  This family-friendly event will conclude with a special appearance by Santa and Rudolf. Book a $25 family ticket for up to 5 people for The Main Stage or a $20 family ticket for up to 5 people in The Docks.

Jingle all the Bay | Sandgate

Jingle all the Bay

Celebrate Christmas on the Sandgate Bayside with a Festive Street Party and Christmas Parade. Jingle all the Bay is proudly presented by the Sandgate and Districts Chamber of Commence, there will be live entertainment, a Meet and Greet with Santa, Winter Wonderland Laneway, food and Christmas markets, Whoville Themed area with entertainment, heaps of Free activities for the kids, amusement rides and animal farm. Don’t miss the Christmas Street Parade at 7pm!

Community Christmas Carols | Beenleigh

Join Santa, his helpers and all the wonderful people that make up the Beenleigh/Logan community as they sing along to the old favourites from time gone by… White Christmas; Ave Maria; Silver Bells and more…Bring a picnic blanket and stay and watch the Christmas movie after on the lawns of the Beenleigh Historical Village. Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols | Brisbane

The iconic annual Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols will host a variety of Australia’s most renowned singers and entertainers as they ignite the big stage in this joyous and magical celebration of Christmas. This is a must-do for Brisbane families!

Community Christmas Carols | Underwood

You are invited to attend the Community Christmas Carols event at Underwood Park, Rochedale. This FREE family event will include carol singing, market stalls, and fun family activities. Bring your family, bring your friends and come enjoy a night of community Christmas fun! Find more details here.

Gold Coast Mayor’s Virtual Christmas Carols | Online

The ninth annual Mayor’s Christmas Carols is turning virtual for 2020! The FREE virtual family-friendly event will be simulcast on the Gold Coast City’s webpage, on their Facebook event page and aired on 102.9 Hot Tomato at 6pm on Saturday 5 December. The all-star line-up will include headline acts from previous Gold Coast Mayor’s Christmas Carol events including, singing superstars Kate Ceberano and Anthony Callea.

Hills Community Carols – At Home | Online

Centenary Community Carols | Middle Park

The Centenary Christmas Carols is a family-friendly evening with food vans, jumping castle, Santa’s sleigh, carols, live nativity scene, and fireworks. Plus this year you can test your skills on the mobile ninja warrior obstacle course. Keep up to date on the event here.

With lots of family-friendly entertainment on offer, everyone can get into the spirit of the season while enjoying performances by local community groups and schools. The North Lakes Christmas Carols will feature plenty of free activities and workshops, roving performers and FUN! You can even do some last-minute Christmas gift shopping at the twilight markets.

Christmas Twilight Markets & Carols | Tanah Merah

Christmas Twilight Market Tanah Merah

This isn’t your ordinary Christmas market! It’s a Christmas Twilight Market Spectacular! Kicking off at 5pm, the markets will include stalls selling fresh produce, handcrafted gifts, boutique clothing and mouth-watering food. PLUS the lighting of a 5ft Christmas tree, Christmas Carols by renowned Opera Singer Lisa Lockland-Bell and a special guest appearance by Santa himself!

Flagstone Twilight Markets & Community Carols | Flagstone

Flagstone Twilight Markets will return in collaboration with a carol event on Saturday 12 December 2020. Delicious food trucks will be at the event to fill hungry tummies and Santa will be making a visit too! Redcliffe Christmas Carols | Redcliffe

Celebrate the festive season with the annual Redcliffe Christmas Carols at Dolphins Stadium with twilight markets, food stalls, Christmas Carols and more!

Thursday 17 December

Head to The Belvedere to celebrate the holiday season! Sing along to all of your favourite Christmas songs at their FREE Annual Carols on the Bay event hosted by Ye Ole Brass Band.

Human Nature Christmas with Dami Im | Riverstage Brisbane

You can even do some last-minute Christmas gift shopping at the twilight markets or participate in the many free activities and workshops!

Bray Park Christmas Festival | Bray Park

Joy to the World A Christmas Special | Online

The annual The Shed Australia Co Community Carols are on again but this year with a difference. Due to COVID19 they have taken this year’s Carols online by teaming up with Hello Mondayz to present a wonderful night of carols with some amazing local artists.     Living in England, carol singer used to come to our door singing for coins or mince pies, but I haven’t seen that happen in Australia. I love the big carol events in Australia though, and at least it’s warm enough for them to be hosted outside! 🙂
