Halloween Sunshine Coast is growing, growing and GROWING! But where do you go to take kids if you’re a first-timer?

There are LOTS of great things to see and do at this time of year on the Sunshine Coast. There will be local trick or treat homes that you can visit or, if you like, the more structured activities that are listed below. Mwahahaha.

Friday 27 October

Kids’ Halloween Party at Golden Beach Tavern

Come along to a spooky party from 4pm at Golden Beach Tavern. There will be plenty to keep your little monsters entertained with face painting, best dressed competition, jelly eating competition and a dance party on the lawn!

Halloween Movie Night | Palmwood

Celebrate the spooky time of year with an outdoor screening of Muppet’s Haunted Mansion at Palmwood State School. Gates open at 5.45pm. Find out more here

Fright Night Movie Night | Kunda Park

Enjoy a family-friendly scary movie with popcorn and pizza. Bring along your own snacks as well. Blankets, pillows, Oodies are more than welcome too!

There is a prize for best dressed, so you’ll want to up your spooky costume game!

Go along from 6pm to enjoy Halloween Bingo with fun prizes. Goosebumps (PG) starts at 7pm. You can buy your tickets in advance and they cost $25 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids)

Friday 27 – Sunday 29 October

Halloween FestEVIL Harvest Moon | Aussie World

At Aussie World, there are no tricks – just treats, and they’ve come up with an event you’ll want to sink your fangs into. Your evening will include frightfully fantastic night rides and attractions, spooky augmented reality, themed shows, trick-or-treat huts and more. 

Taking place from 5pm to 10pm on the Friday and Saturday, and from 12pm – 5pm on the Sunday, you’ll have plenty of time on the rides plus plenty of special Halloween ghoulish fun. 

Be sure to check out which day is most suitable for your group. Friday is suitable for those 12 years and older and kids’ zone rides won’t be in operation that night.

All nights include: horror mazes, unlimited rides, pyrotechnics, roving horror entertainers and goulish treats. Sunday has one maze less but you can bring your grandparents for free and add on a Halloween Buffet Feast between 5.30pm – 7.30pm in The Shed.

Halloween Scary Skate Party at the Rollerdome | Caloundra

Get your Spook on, and come along for a frightful weekend of skating fun. This Halloween Dress Up party is not to be missed.

Get ready to lace up your skates and roll into the night of your worst nightmares when Skateaway is transformed into a realm of darkness, where ghosts, ghouls, and creatures of the night come to life. The air is thick with a spooky atmosphere as eerie music sets the tone for a night of frightful fun.

The DJ will spin a haunting mix of music to keep your heart pounding as you navigate the rink’s twists and turns. Beware of the surprises that await you in the shadows – who knows what might pop up next?

Dress up in your most terrifying costume and compete in our costume contest for a chance to win spooktacular prizes. The more creative and chilling, the better!

Spooktacular Adventures | The Ginger Factory

Get ready for Spooktacular Adventures at The Ginger Factory this Halloween! On the 31st of October transform into a creepy creature with complimentary face painting, come dressed in your favourite costume for free trick or treating AND watch as the marvellous Miss Donna creates spooky characters with her magical balloon art. PLUS enjoy all the usual ginger fun with a hauntingly sweet twist all week long as The Ginger Factory transforms into the ultimate spooky destination for the whole last week of October. Saturday 28 October

Aura Halloween Spooktacular | Bells Creek

Come along for a Halloween Spooktacular on Oct 28, 3pm-8.30pm at Baringa Forest Park! Enjoy a fairy run, zombie run, and movies in the park. You can find all of the details here.

Sunday 29 October

Kids’ Halloween Party | Caloundra RSL

Step away from the tricks and get ready for a delightful Halloween treat! Pop along to Caloundra RSL for an unforgettable Kids’ Halloween Party!

From 3 pm to 5 pm, a live DJ will be conjuring up the spookiest monster mashups in town, ensuring a thrilling dance experience for all the little ghouls and goblins.

Prepare to showcase your spooktacular style because there are fantastic prizes waiting to be won! We’ll be rewarding the spookiest and most creative costumes, so bring your A-game and let your imagination run wild.

Tuesday 31 October

Halloween at Australia Zoo | Beerwah

Australia Zoo is ready to celebrate Halloween! Come along and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere! Join the spooky fun as they reward every child in their Halloween attire, whether it’s bone-chilling or not-so-spooky. Make sure to arrive early to claim your prize, available while supplies last.

Trick or Treat your way around the shops and kiosks, spot the five mysterious black cats that are hiding around the park and win prize, take part in pumpkin carving (free but spaces are limited so secure your spot!) and enjoy spooky specials in the Crikey Cafe.

What a spook-tacular day! Be sure to get there early to collect your prizes while stocks last.

Halloween Party | Tewantin

Come along for a spooky evening at Tewantin Noosa RSL. Your brood will be able to enjoy kids’ scary food specials and take part in a best dressed contest. Book your table from 5pm. Find out more here

Buderim Tavern Spooky Disco | Buderim

Come along to celebrate the spooky night and enjoy dinner at Buderim Tavern. They have a spooky disco and face painting from 3 – 8pm. You can find out more here

Make your own Halloween Sunshine Coast fun!

Of course, if none of these ideas suit, you can always make your own fun at home. Put together a mini haunted house, get a ghostly disco going on, have a dress-up party, and just go wild on the candy. There are plenty of options for creating your own mini-festival – why not make it a street party and get to know the neighbourhood? It’s a great bonding experience and so fun for the kids. You could make some brand new friends… forever! Everyone will be simply dying to come! Mwhahahaha!
