Having a Christmas lunch Brisbane style is almost here so it’s definitely time to plan how your family is going to celebrate. Thankfully, Brisbane Christmas Day lunch doesn’t have to mean slaving away in the kitchen!
Here are the best places to enjoy while letting someone else cook Christmas lunch Brisbane style for you and your family. Whether you are looking for a Christmas buffet lunch in Brisbane or al la carte, we have a list of delicious options! Apart from the bonus of not having to cook, a lot of these venues provide family-friendly entertainment to reduce your mental load at this busy time of year!
How to use this Christmas Day lunch guide:
I have broken the list into:
- budget friendly options – under $100 per adult
- mid-range – between $100 – $200 per adult
- expensive – over $200 per adult
And there are two listings that I have put into an ‘Uber Expensive’ category as they are both over $300pp.

Budget friendly Christmas lunch – under $100
Sadly, this year, I could not find any Christmas Day lunches under $100 for an adult. If you know of any, please let me know and I will add!
Mid-range Christmas lunch – $100 – $200
The cheapest Christmas Day lunch I found was Woodpecker Tavern for $140 for adults + $50 for kids. The most expensive around Brisbane is Sofitel in the CBD for $319.

Christmas lunch at Brisbane’s best pubs
We love a good pub lunch at any time, but at Christmas, these down to earth locations might just hit the spot for your family too!
Families tip: If your pub/tavern/hotel of choice isn’t on my list above, check out the range of pubs/taverns run by ALH Group as most will be doing Christmas Day lunch.
Christmas lunch Brisbane
Got any hot tips for us? What about other places in the suburbs? Let us know your plans in the comments!
Looking for suggestions around Ormiston but happy to travel. No buffet because of covid preferred.
Any venues likely to be open around the Northside on Xmas Day?
hi there
any updates for the ones missing information?
Not yet – but we have calls in to all of them and are waiting. We promise as soon as we know we will update.
Following!!
Last year we attended the Kenmore Tavern for Christmas. It was great.
Do like the sound of Christine’s experience though. Music is always an added bonus.
Looking for any recommendations on the Bayside (Manly, Raby Bay etc)?
Hi Paul,
I also noticed there isn’t a lot being advertised. Hopefully now that restrictions are easing they can start planning for this now. Last year we went for lunch at a hotel restaurant with live music, three courses and unlimited drinks. I was super apprehensive about Christmas on our own and it turned out to be really nice. Hoping to find another nice lunch again this year.
What hotel please
What hotel for what?
Following as we are in the same situation
We have no family in Brizzy so looking for ideas for Christmas lunch, last year was too depressing on our own – Anyone any suggestions not a lot being advertised, its all 2019 data.
Has anyone got any recommendations for Christmas dinner? I’ve searched a few places but would like to know people’s thoughts.
Thanks 🙂
Last year we attended the Christmas Day Buffet Lunch at The Brisbane Golf Club. For just $150 per person it represented outstanding value for money.
