Christmas Carols in Brisbane always guarantee a fun family night out due to the Queensland weather and unrivaled community spirit. So many community groups go above and beyond to spread Christmas cheer each year. The great news is we will see a lot of Christmas Carols in Brisbane events go ahead in 2023!

Christmas Carols signal that the festive season’s in full swing in shopping centres, on the radio and even when you’re on hold during a phone call… but nothing beats going to a live event to sing along and share the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Carols in Brisbane this year will be held in venues throughout the city. So you’ll know where and when they’re on, we’ve compiled the following list of recommended events.

The Rotary Club of Toowong presents the Bardon/Toowong Christmas Carols on Saturday 25th November 2023 from 2pm to 4.30pm featuring:

Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree | Brisbane

This year, the Lighting of the Christmas Tree presented by The Lott by Golden Casket will be held at King George Square from 6:20pm on Friday 1 December 2023.

The festivities will include live musical performances of cherished Christmas tunes, including a special performance by Dami Im, as Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner illuminates the impressive 22-metre tree- marking the beginning of the Christmas festivities in Brisbane!

Following the official lighting event, the Christmas Tree will remain in King George Square for all to enjoy this festive season.

Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols | Brisbane

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is Brisbane’s premier annual Christmas event and returns on Saturday 2 December in 2023 to spread joy to the world with a dazzling evening of high kicks, high notes and hijinks.

Hosted by Queensland’s first lady of song, Naomi Price, this world-class evening of entertainment features a cavalcade of stars from stage and screen including Dami Im, Johnny Manuel, Caroline O’Connor, Swing on This, Loren Hunter, Rebecca Cassidy, Jack Chambers, Irena Lysiuk, Alisha Todd and Brooke Schubert. Audience favourites The Jingle Belles return in 2023 under the direction of superstar chorographer Kate Wormald and of course – it wouldn’t be Christmas without a VIP visit from Santa himself!

Please note tickets are limited. Tickets are $5 each for patrons aged 18 years and over (under 18 years of age are free but they still need to book a free ticket).

Murrumba Christmas Spectacular | Murrumba Downs

The sweet sounds of Christmas carols will bring the joy of Christmas to John Oxley Reserve on Saturday 2nd December for the Murrumba Christmas Spectacular.

Bring your little elves along for this very merry, north of Brisbane Xmas carols community event. Featuring food trucks, stage entertainment, kids activities and of course Christmas carols you’re sure to get into the Christmas spirit. Plus don’t miss a visit from SANTA and the fireworks show at 8pm!

Hills Community Carols | Ferny Hills

Organisers are excited that The Hills Community Carols presented by GVK Lions Club Inc, Ferny Districts Amateur Fishing Club and Moreton Bay Regional Council are back in 2023 at George Willmore Park!! Treat yo’elf to an amazing afternoon of entertainment, rides, food stalls, face painting, fireworks and a visit from Santa. Bring the family, meet up with friends, pack a rug or a chair, and enjoy some festive cheer.

Multicap’s Christmas Carols brings together Multicap friends, families, and the local community to celebrate the festive season!

There will be markets, live music, food vendors, art, free activities and games for everyone to enjoy. Multicap’s creative arts team will also play an active role, showcasing their unique artwork, with an on-site cafe serving food and drinks at the event.

Wakerley Carols | Wakerley

Wakerley Carols has something for the whole family. You’re invited to join in for an afternoon of tasty treats, live music, arts & crafts, and rides leading into an evening of Christmas carols and a fireworks finale. This free community event is an initiative of the Port of Brisbane Rotary club supported by Brisbane City Council, local businesses, and service organisations.

Flagstone Twilight Markets & Community Carols | Flagstone

Flagstone Twilight Markets will return in collaboration with a carol event on Saturday 2 December 2023. Browse the boutique and handmade market stallholders to find great gift ideas just in time for Christmas. Delicious food trucks will be at the event to fill hungry tummies and Santa will be making a visit too! Enjoy the magical Christmas spirit as you listen and sing-a-long to your favourite Christmas carols.

Redcliffe Christmas Carols | Kippa-Ring

Take a drive out from the river city to see some of the best Christmas Carols in Brisbane. The signature giant snow globes will be back, providing the perfect white Christmas photo opportunity. Santa’s Village will feature Christmas-themed roving entertainment, kids’ workshops, free face-painting and more! Don’t forget to bring your best vocals with lots of family-friendly entertainment on offer!

Centenary Community Carols | Middle Park

The Centenary Salvation Army hosts the annual Carols in the Park, held at The Peter Lightfoot Oval for the Centenary Suburbs. This popular event is sponsored by local businesses and organizations and is attended by thousands every year.

This year’s Carols in the Park will be held on Sunday 3rd December 2023. Afternoon activities and the Twilight Markets from 4-6pm and then the 1 hour concert commencing at 7pm including: Fireworks, live nativity animals, concert featuring many popular carols, guest artists and Santa, food and craft available for purchase and so much more.

Don’t forget the Twilight Markets with over 30 local vendors, open from 4pm to 6pm.

The City of Logan Christmas Carols is the city’s biggest annual Christmas event, celebrating the magic and joy of the festive season.

Kids will love the Christmas PAW Patrol stage show as their favourite pups save the day with their teamwork and unique skills. PAW Patrol – let’s roll!

North Lakes Christmas Carols | North Lakes

Get into the Christmas spirit this festive season in Moreton Bay. Pack a picnic blanket and jingle your way down to Kinsellas Sports Complex in North Lakes on Sunday 10th of December from 4pm – 8pm for a truly SPECTACULAR evening.

Back by popular demand are the Christmas Llamas! Families can give them a pat and even have their photos taken with them.

Meet Santa and snap up a photo with your family. Santa’s Village will feature Christmas-themed roving entertainment, kids workshops, free face-painting and more!

Treat the family to a delicious meal from one of their food trucks available at the event. You will be spoiled for choice!

Christmas By Starlight

Christmas by Starlight, Redlands Coast’s largest free community event, will be held on Saturday 16 December 2023 at Norm Price Park­ – Redland Showgrounds, Cleveland.

Hosted by Redland City Council and attracting more than 10,000 people, the event will feature some of the finest local talent performing alongside renowned entertainers as the Redland Showgrounds are transformed into a magical and musical Christmas spectacular.

The all-age family event will begin at 3pm with an afternoon of free activities for children, roving entertainment, rides, and face painting. Families will be treated to a range of food truck delights and merchandise stalls set up by local not-for-profit community groups and licensed commercial operators. Afternoon entertainment will also be held on the main stage as a prelude to the spectacular Christmas by Starlight concert.

At approximately 8.30pm, the event will close for a five-minute firework display to be delivered by Mr Fireworks, subject to weather and other conditions.

Bray Park Christmas Festival | Bray Park

Love Christmas? You’ll love the Bray Park Christmas Festival! At this free Christmas event there will be 3 carol sessions.

There will be fun for everyone, including free jumping castles, a baby animal farm, kids’ activities, food and live music.

You’ll also be able to purchase specialty coffee or something to feast upon from one of the food trucks! There will be market stalls for your last-minute Christmas shopping as well.
The outdoor Festival runs from 4PM to 7PM.

Sit in air-conditioning and enjoy some festive carols at one of our three shows throughout the festival!
