Squash – for Brisbane kids

Is your Brisbane child looking for a sport that is easy to learn, fast-paced, exciting, challenging and competitive?

Does your child want to build stamina, speed, agility and endurance in a sport that is every bit as exhilarating and engaging as the latest high-speed video games? Get them off the couch and onto the court with squash!

What is squash?

Squash is a small-ball racquet sport played by two or more players on a walled court, combining striking with rapid twists, turns and changes of direction. Children who play squash develop heightened spatial awareness, hand-eye co-ordination and agility, together with the ability to think quickly and plan ahead to out-manoeuvre their opponent, and because all players play on the same side of the court they’ll develop pretty quick reflexes too!

Why should I choose squash for my Brisbane kid?

Brisbane squash

Squash is a sport that is growing in popularity for many reasons: anyone who can hold a racquet can participate (come on kids, challenge mum and dad to a game!), it’s accessible, it’s fun to play, has amazing physical and mental health benefits, and you can choose your own intensity level from ‘social interaction’ right up to ‘heart-pumping, adrenalin-fuelled, every-single-muscle-hurts exhaustion’. Phew!

But squash is not just a sport for the naturally gifted. Any child can join a squash club and begin to play regardless of fitness and skill level. Your child can play for fun and fitness or develop their competitive edge with squash lessons at one of the centres listed below. All you need is a racquet, ball, and court, all of which can be hired at your local squash centre. Squash is available all year round, so there’s no better time to call than today!
