Garden Nursery Virginia

Vend Marketplace - nursery virginia

Lovingly called The Greenhouse, you can find this nursery in Virginia towards the back left of the store. We visited because we had heard good things about the range of unique pots for plants at this nursery in Virginia. I was looking for a specific type of pot to re-pot and up-size my bonsai that was given to me as a gift. I wanted to find something cute and original, so we headed to VEND.

Playground at VEND

We love that VEND is super family friendly. The kids will LOVE VEND. The covered playground is fenced and has rubber matting on the ground. It really does suit younger children (I suspect Matser 13 was too big, but he did pose for the photo!) There are plenty of places to sit around the playground with your coffee and watch the kids having ALL THE FUN!

Cafe at VEND

The vintage style VEND Cafe has an inviting and homely atmosphere with a warm casual dining experience for breakfast and lunch. We loved their menu options. I opted for the corn fritters and Master 13 had the nachos. They also source their ingredients locally, which is a testament to their *shop local* mantra! VEND is licensed too, so you can enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal.

They offer a kids menu with chicken nuggets & chips, fish & chips, sausage/bacon & eggs, butter milk pancakes w vanilla bean ice cream & maple syrup. Yum! (We are going to come back for the pancakes another day!)

With both indoor and outdoor seating they cater for all group sizes and for dogs in the outdoor seating section. They even have a retro Nintendo game for all kids big and small as well as giant lawn games adjoining the kids playground.

The verdict

We loved it. Make sure you keep an eye on their Facebook page for local *pop-up* events, including plant sales where you can grab a cheap plant (or two!) as well as kids classes and other events.

We will be back!
