School Holiday Program

Sesame Lane Daycare – Clontarf

Clontarf Sesame Lane Daycare opened in July 2004 in a redeveloped shopping centre. The building is adjacent to a quiet lane and park in beautiful leafy Clontarf suburbia. The quiet location oserviceervice gives a harmonious feel when you first enter the building. The Service playgrounds have lush gardens that face the park giving a green cool atmosphere for children to play and learn. Being environmentally responsible is a big part of their philosophy.

Inside the building, the rooms are well resourced and lay outs to encourage and support learning. The educators have a reputation in the community for their warm and engaging actions to promote happy healthy learners. Their goal is to provide a safe caring environment for the best outcome for every child.

Clontarf Sesame Lane Daycare has great respect for every family and knows that children learn with a sound relationship and partnership with families. Their families are central to the curriculum and are invited and encouraged to involve themselves in the Service in all facets. Clontarf Sesame Lane has an open door policy that encourages families to stay and play as well as organised days where families are invited to special shows and family days.

Children have the opportunity to participate and actively engaged in several programmes; the Japanese language with Senesi Ryo who incorporates the Japanese programme through art , songs, language, cooking and craft  and Red music – music for movement and singing. The menu is varied and delicious and changes according to the seasons and family input. Four meals are provided during the day – morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack. A nappy service using bamboo nappies is available for children under 2 years of age.

The Service has close ties with several schools in the district both public and private, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. The Government Approved Kindergarten programme is available for 4 year old children. The Before and After school programme caters for children up to 8 years of age and Clontarf Sesame Lane service Clontarf Beach and Woody Point Southern Cross Catholic school.

Sesame Lane Outside of School Hours Care – Kippa Ring

Situated in Kippa Ring, School Zone caters for all children attending school from Grades 1-6. The specially designed ergonomic space both indoor and outdoor is for the exclusive use of school-age children, where they are encouraged to engage in a range of activities from sports to arts and crafts, technology, cooking, researching and investigating their world and caring for our environment just to name a few.

School Zone provides healthy, nutritionally balanced food options for children including breakfast, afternoon tea and a late snack during school terms. All meals are provided during vacation care. They offer supervised homework hour (with parents’ permission) and free drop off and pick up from local schools each school day. During school holidays, the Service offers a range of daily activities and excursions including trips to Aussie World, ice skating, tenpin bowling, movies and more.

School Zone’s program is linked to the Sesame Lane philosophy, ideology, vision, purpose, promise and values. They inspire learning early to help create Happy Healthy Learners. The curriculum is based around the National Quality Framework which includes; My Time Our Place, the Practices, Principles and the 5 Outcomes for children and the National Standards 7 quality areas. Their unique and inclusive programs for OSHC and Vacation care are appropriate for a range of ages demonstrating inclusiveness and diversity.

Rated as an EXCEEDING Service by the National Quality Standards, School Zone’s unique approach is dedicated to care. So what does a National Quality Standard of Exceeding actually mean?  It means that School Zone staff is striving for excellence in the service they provide to their children and families.

School Zone operates a morning session from 6:30am to 9:00am and an afternoon session from  2:30pm to 6:30pm school days and are open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm during school holidays and local pupil free days. They are open Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year (closed on gazetted public holidays and weekends).

Sesame Lane Daycare – Kippa Ring 1

Sesame Lane Kippa Ring 1 was opened in October 2002 and is just one of the 14 Sesame Lane Services in the Moreton Bay region. The service takes pride in their community involvement through their relationships with local businesses and schools. Here are just some of the reasons why families love this service;

  • The children at Kippa Ring 1 have regular visits to the retirement village and they welcome the retirement village residents to their service.
  • The centre has monthly visits from the Redcliffe library and the children have the opportunity to visit the library.

Sesame Lane Daycare – Kippa Ring 3

Sesame Lane Kippa Ring 3 was opened in May 2004.  Kippa Ring 3 is well known for its famous big pirate ship in the playground. The children love playing pirates and pretending they are sailing out to sea.  The Educators enjoy the pirate ship just as much as the children as they also love being adventurous and creating spontaneous learning experience for their Happy Healthy Learners.  When you visit, be sure to say hi to the resident turtle Mr Shmiggs; he is part of the Sesame Lane family at Kippa Ring 3.

This Service has all the benefits of long day care such as opening hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. But the extra benefits are what really make this Service unique. The following are all inclusive of the daily fee;

Sesame Lane Daycare Narangba – Banyan St opened its doors in January 2002. This Service boasts large tree edge playgrounds which provides not only privacy and shade but lots of fun and adventures for their Happy Healthy Leaners. The long-standing staff are dedicated to care and always look to provide engaging experiences that will inspire growth.

Sesame Lane Daycare North Lakes – Astley Pde is located along side of IGA supermarket and in short distance to the the local shopping plaza and train station.

North Lakes – Astley Pde is story service and provides 107 long day care spaces per day, which includes before, after and school vacation care. The service has a professional cook that provides healthy, nutritional and well-balanced meals that caters for all children. The cook also provides cooking experiences that encourages an educational learning experience that provides each child with skills that will last them a lifetime.

Their Queensland Kindergarten funded program is supported by a Bachelor qualified teacher which ensures that each child is prepared to their own ability of learning to be school ready before they enter into the world of “big school”.

The service provides a learning environment that encourages and inspires learning early as the first 5 years of a child’s life are the most important to their growth and development. Throughout each day the children have opportunities to experience a play based curriculum which parents, families and visitors are welcome to come along and participate, their door is always open.
