Night at the Queensland Museum: After Hours Fun for Families!

The Queensland Museum are renowned for their fabulous after dark adventure – A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM! These special Night at the Queensland Museum events always sell out so if you’re keen to go book asap! Periodically throughout the year they put on awesome adventures for kids and their grownups. These nights are your chance to visit this great local venue ‘after hours’ at a number of special events throughout the year.

We highly recommend it. Especially great for parents that work but still want to do fun activities with their kids!

Night at The Museum details – 2023

A Night at the Museum is back with exclusive after hours access to Queensland Museum including the roarsome Dinosaurs of Patagonia, along with a range of other fun activities for the whole family.

  • Date: Friday 16 June 2023
  • Time: 5.30pm – 8.30pm Book tickets here.
  • Look out for additional A Night at the Museum events coming Friday 14 July and Friday 15 September 2023.

Exhibitions

  • Discover 16 life-sized dinosaur skeletons from South America in Dinosaurs of Patagonia 
  • Ignite your curiosity with exclusive access to SparkLab, Sciencentre
  • Enjoy First Nations storytelling and objects in Wild State

Events and activities

  • Mind-blowing live magic shows
  • Create your own dinosaurs using origami and ask our resident palaeontologist all your burning prehistoric questions!
  • Meet live animals including native wombats, crocodiles, birds and more

Ages: All ages welcome

Prices for the special event:

  • Adults $40
  • Children (3-12 years) $15 – Must be accompanied by an adult 18+
  • Family Pass (2 adults and 2 children 3-12 years) $90
  • Children under 3 are free

Janine Mergler

Janine Mergler is a veteran Queensland teacher, graduating from QUT with a BEd majoring in Social Sciences. After many years in the classroom, Janine moved on to academia. She has proudly trained new generations of teachers in her role as a lecturer at Queensland University of Technology Faculty of Education. She has also worked in the Queensland Government as an education specialist, developing education resources and delivering community awareness programs to help families conserve water. Currently she is the owner and editor of Families Magazine, a publication specifically targeted at parents who value a quality education for children.  Janine leads a team of professionals who write about family lifestyle, early childhood, schools and education information and family-friendly events.
