Last Thursday, we headed into the bustling Brisbane CBD to check out Little Miss Sunshine, a new restaurant on Ann Street. We were invited to experience the venue firsthand and share our thoughts with you. Our group included 3 adults and 3 teenagers (aged 17, 15, and 13), and we were keen to see if Little Miss Sunshine would be a great option for families like ours.
Atmosphere at Little Miss Sunshine
The first thing we noticed was the lively vibe of the restaurant. Being in the CBD, Little Miss Sunshine had a bustling atmosphere, especially on a Thursday evening. The crowd was made up of professionals winding down after work, socialising with friends and colleagues. The restaurant had a stylish, modern design, which felt vibrant and energetic. However, because of the crowd, it did feel more suited to families with teenagers, rather than younger children. If you are planning to check it out with your tweens/teens, I would recommend going Mon – Weds. It would also be an excellent ‘after work’ place for parents who work in the city.
Food
One of the highlights of our evening was the food – absolutely delicious! Each meal was well-prepared, with great attention to detail in presentation and flavour. I had the Barramundi, which was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin and tender flesh. My brother-in-law ordered the Lamb Kofka, and he said it was packed with flavour. My sister went for the Ribeye steak, and it was perfectly cooked and juicy. The teens also loved their meals – Master 15 opted for the Sirloin steak, Miss 13 enjoyed the Wagyu cheeseburger, and Master 17 dug into the Beef Shawarma.

The Menu
The menu at Little Miss Sunshine offers a great range of options, from steaks to seafood, and more. There’s a Middle Eastern influence, which we all enjoyed, and we thought the prices were reasonable, especially for a restaurant in the CBD. The portion sizes were generous, and we left feeling very satisfied. You can see what is on offer on their menu here.
Kids Meals
Little Miss Sunshine doesn’t offer a dedicated kids menu, so it’s more suited to families with older children or teens who have bigger appetites. The meals we ordered were perfect for our family, especially with teens who enjoy more substantial portions.
The Drinks
The drinks menu was extensive, with a good selection of cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic options. My sister tried a cocktail that she loved, and the kids ordered soft drinks, which came quickly and were refreshing after a warm evening in the city.

Facilities
Given its CBD location, Little Miss Sunshine doesn’t have a dedicated kids’ play area or facilities for younger children, but for teens and adults, it’s ideal. The washrooms were clean, and the space was modern and well-maintained. We loved our ‘booth’ seating too!
Highlights
The highlight of our visit was definitely the quality of the food. Each dish was well-priced considering the CBD location, and the flavours were impressive. The vibrant atmosphere also made for a lively evening out, perfect for families with older kids or groups of friends.
Overview
Little Miss Sunshine is a fantastic addition to Brisbane’s CBD dining scene, especially for families with teens or groups looking for a fun night out. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere lively. We’d recommend it for families with older kids looking for an evening meal alongside a night out in the city!
