Easter is such a special time to spend with the special people in your life. This year Easter falls on the weekend of Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April, 2026. There are so many traditions at Easter time. My family always does an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Sunday, then catch up with family and friends. Or perhaps you make the most of the very long weekend and catch up on some DIY jobs around the house?
I don’t know about you, but many of our Easter traditions have something to do with food! There are hot cross buns, seafood, roasts and basically any recipe that involves chocolate. There can never be too much chocolate at Easter! It is also time in Brisbane to think about pulling out the winter pyjamas (hopefully!) ready for the Sunday morning Easter egg hunt in the cooler morning air.
Create some family traditions with some Easter craft, or make your own creme Easter eggs. There are plenty of activities to do for a fun weekend at home with the family, but there are so many great things to do out and about as well! From Easter putt-putt to an Easter egg hunt around the city, we have detailed all the best events for Easter in our guide.
How to use our Easter long weekend guide:
In our activities guide you will find that we have broken our Easter ideas for families up into the four days of the Easter long weekend to help you find the best Easter activities for you and your family over the Easter holiday period.
