Backyard Bonanza: Bracken Ridge Event for North Brisbane Families!

Backyard Bonanza will be the perfect event for Brisbane families situated on the north side of the river. Head along to Bracken Ridge on Brisbane’s northside and see how the surrounding communities celebrate in style!

Backyard Bonanza

This annual family-focused event will be held on Sunday 25 August 2024 at McPherson Park in Bracken Ridge. You will find lots of free fun activities for kids as well as several great performances showcasing local talent, children’s shows, professional bands, community and school choirs, dance groups and instrumental ensembles. Entry is free! Wow! The event takes place from 9:00am and finishes up at 2:00pm.

The park will come to life with the Bracken Ridge Lions Club’s Miniature Steam Train Rides, more kids’ and youth activities, delicious food trucks and community market stalls and displays. There will even be a dog parade! How cute!

There’s so much to see and do for all kinds of kids at Backyard Bonanza. The children’s activities are designed to surprise and delight and the food (glorious food) is sure to delight all kinds of tiny tummies.

Two easily accessed stages host a range of performances at this fun family festival. You’ll also see both professional bands and school choirs and instrumental ensembles. There will even be dancing performances as well! With lots of delicious food and market stalls and other community displays, there is so much to do.

The little ones will even have a chance to ride on adorable miniature trains run by the local Lions Club of Bracken Ridge, celebrating their 42nd year! There will be a series of sideshows and carnival-style games, so make sure you visit BYB and learn how to make damper with the local Scouts.

You’ll also find:

  • Delicious food trucks serving a wide range of delicacies
  • Community market stalls
  • Face painting
  • A range of educational workshops

Bracken Ridge – the B is for Bonanza

The organisers are expecting a throng of about 5000 people to visit Backyard Bonanza in 2024, so make sure you get there early to make the most of it and find a park in any of the surrounding streets. This is always an event to remember – make sure you go this year!
