Movie World White Christmas is an incredible event for the whole family. Every year Movie World puts on a dazzling display of lights, decorations, street performances, music, and a spectacular Christmas parade. Of course, no White Christmas would be complete without the magic of snow! That’s right, you can take your children to experience a traditional Christmas winter wonderland while staying right on the Gold Coast.
When is Movie World White Christmas on in 2o20?
In 2020, Movie World’s White Christmas is running from Friday 4 December to Sunday 20 December. Each night the event starts at 5:30pm – 8:30pm.
What to see & do
There is so much to see as you walk through the transformed theme park. The main street of Movie World will be lit up with one million Christmas lights. In the centre of Main Street family Christmas movies are played on a big screen for everyone to enjoy. There will also be street performers and carollers to put everyone in the Christmas spirit.
The highlight of the White Christmas at Movie World is the Christmas Float Parade. Your family will be dazzled by Christmas floats, singers, and dancers. Of course, no Christmas parade would be complete without Santa himself! There are 6 precincts for your family to explore:
Gaze in awe as you wander down Main Street, the home of Christmas cheer. Feel the magic of glittering fairy lights as they illuminate Main Street and enjoy entertainment, excitement, food, Christmas characters, music and so much more. Enchanting, soft snowflake bubbles also create the illusion of a beautiful Winter’s evening as you stroll through Main Street with delicate snow falling to create a true ‘White Christmas’ experience.
Celebrate the wonder and excitement of the most enchanting Christmas parade nightly from 8pm featuring a spectacular extravaganza of magical lights, Christmas characters, magnificent floats and embrace the delightful spirit of Christmas.
Gather around Movie World’s dazzling Christmas tree for the perfect Christmas photo. Witness the magic of the sparkling lights on the tree and take advantage of an impressive backdrop for that perfect family photo. You can find this whimsical tree at the picturesque Fountain of Fame.
Howdy Partner! This special Christmas precinct is filled with glee and flavoured with a hint of the Wild West. Make sure you visit Santa to tell him your Christmas wishlist, or listen to a Christmas story read by Mrs Claus, brought to life with the help of the Looney Tunes. You can also meet some of your favourite Christmas characters in Santa’s Village, so don’t miss out!
Fairy Tree House
Visit the enchanted Fairy Tree House and meet the magical Christmas fairies! The whimsical fairies are nestled in the heart of Kids’ WB! Fun Zone, where they live and play under the big dazzling tree and spread delight and Christmas cheer to all those who visit! How many fairies will you see? Please note, due to COVID-19, there are changes to this precinct and will differ to previous years to adhere to physical distancing.
Swing into the all new Christmas Corner precinct. Experience the most wonderful time of the year by meeting some of your favourite characters and listening to some carols, because what’s Christmas without some good old fashioned festive tunes?! Plus, don’t forget to snap a photo with one of your favourite characters to remember your magicl evening.
Kids’ WB! Fun Zone
Where fantasy comes alive for children of all ages. Experience the magic and thrills of the Looney Tunes rides designed especially for our youngest guests. You will also meet your favourite Looney Tunes characters as Kids’ WB! Fun Zone is home to all of these cuddly stars. Here’s a list od rides the kids can enjoy on the night including height requirements:
- Loony Tunes Carousel (Children under 105cm must ride with an adult)
- Sylvester & Tweety Cages (All heights ok, under 90cm must ride with an adult)
- Junior Driving School (Min 100cm or Min 90cm must ride with an adult)
- Speedy Gonzales’ Tijuana Taxis
- Yosemite Sam Railroad (Min 110cm or under 110cm must ride with an adult)
- Road Runner Rollercoaster (Min 110cm)
Big Kid Rides
- Justice League the 3D Ride (Riders must be 90cm tall)
- Batwing Space Shot (Riders must be 123cm tall)
- DC Rivals Hypercoaster (Riders must be 130cm tall)
- Superman Escape (Riders must be between 140cm – 196cm tall)
Love a bit of torque? You can also check out the Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 show each night. You’ll be on the edge of your seat with extreme precision driving, comedy and action all rolled into a side-splitting, action-packed movie-making adventure!
What does Movie World White Christmas cost?
General admission is $29 for a child (3-13 years) and $49 for an adult online. At the gate it’s $34 per child and $54 per adult. Alternatively, you can purchase an annual pass to Movie World, Wet n Wild, Sea World and Paradise Country and receive a complimentary ticket to White Christmas. These annual passes can range from around $159 for ‘locals’ who live in Queensland/Northenr News South Wales (postcodes 2450-2490) and $230 for everyone else.
You can choose to pay for additional experiences including:
- becoming an Elf at the Elf Club for kids 3-10 years – $55 per child
- a Meet Santa paid photo experience
- joining Mrs Claus for a Christmas Feast – $39 child & $69 adult
- decorating baubles, gingerbread, and mugs – $15
