Kid Friendly Things To Do on New Years Eve in Brisbane

New Years Eve?! It’s here ALREADY?! It’s time to welcome in the New Year. You don’t have to settle for 9pm fireworks and bed; the party has barely started!

Just because you are parents doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the New Years Eve fun. Here are a few things to do on New Years Eve WITH the kids in tow!

Fun for adults AND fun for kids on New Years Eve!

You want to have fun and enjoy the festivities, and you should! You want something more exciting than a few glow sticks, lollies and the early fireworks but the kids make it hard. These ideas will see you and your children enjoying the night and seeing the year through.

New Years Eve Idea – Make your own party!

Hire out a function room that offers a kids club or designated kids area. Some venues even provide onsite babysitting so you can party on without the added stress of your children having fun.

You could add something more to the party and make it fancy dress or themed. This will take the pressure off finding the perfect outfit and make the night more entertaining.

New Years Eve Idea – Dinner party!

Celebrate at home! Invite your friends and family around for an extravagant dinner party. Bring out the fine china, that expensive bottle of wine and laugh into the early hours of the morning.

Okay… so this MAY have been taken at a restaurant but how cute are our staff?!

This gives parents a comfortable and homey environment for their kids to chill out, sleep and still be involved in the celebration. Your guests will be able to make use of quiet bedrooms and portacots for younger children and babies – giving them back a sense of ‘freedom’ that is often lost to parents of young children!

New Years Eve Idea –  Bonfire!

Throw a backyard bonfire party or better yet go camping. Again this allows children to be free and have fun but also sleep whenever they are tired, and you can still party on. Families Magazine definitely recommends you check your local council bylaws as to recommendations and restrictions for backyard bonfires.

Make sure you invite your neighbours or at least let them know that you are hosting the festivities so they are prepared for more noise than usual. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy the good company, amazing food and great atmosphere.

New Years Eve Idea – Check local events!

Everyone wants to celebrate and the general consensus on NYE is ‘the more the merrier’. Local events will be posted online, in magazines, newspapers and even flyers. Some of the VERY BEST New Years Eve entertainment around is LOCAL – like this fabulous example!  Get amongst it and enjoy the fun with your kids. Celebrate the New Year in style, adult style. You are allowed to have fun and you can do it with your kids. There are so many things to do on New Years Eve that are suitable for the whole family, you just have to get creative!
