Holland Park State High School 

Holland Park State High School is a boutique high school, selected by discerning parents making a deliberate choice of a smaller high school for their children.  Parents are attracted by high standards of teaching and learning, a focus on the individual child, strong academic results and OP history, vocational pathways and tailored programs in the Senior School.

Holland Park State High School believes each person is special.  The school’s focus is to establish each student’s abilities and talents, and then provide individual learning opportunities to work on those strengths.

Students at Holland Park State High School are provided with high quality learning programs within the curriculum.  School staff look out for student excellence and respond to the needs and goals of students and their families.

Holland Park State High School results

Ninety percent of eligible students achieved OP 1 – 15 in 2019, including two OP1s and 16% OP 1-5. One hundred percent of graduates finished school with a qualification (QCE, VET or SAT), with 98.7% of graduates completing their QCE.  
 
Triple E excellence classes produce outstanding academic outcomes for students.  With an approach to personalised learning, all students complete a Personal Learning Plan where they learn to set goals and monitor their progress throughout the year. A High Performance Volleyball program has delivered National Championship winning teams (two silver medals in 2018), while tailored programs for elite athletes have enabled them to combine their studies with international volleyball, diving and gymnastics competitions, including the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Creative programs in Music, Art and Languages (Japanese and German) attract considerable interest. The school has a long standing sister school relationship with Senior High School, Osaka, Japan.
 
The school is developing bilingual and masterclass strands for talented students of Japanese, for implementation in Year 7 in 2020.  Provisional accreditation to host international students will complement the school’s focus on developing 21st century skills for the global economy.

Holland Park State High School is proud of its achievements in volleyball within high level competitions.  The volleyball program is offered with expert coaching from year levels 7 to 12.

The school has also achieved outstanding success with elite student athletes in gymnastics, diving and trampolining.

Years 8-10 students are eligible for selection into the school’s Triple E program, with a concentration on achieving a very high standard in English, maths and science.  Students that undertake the school’s Triple E program, work with a deeper and more challenging nature, to achieve top student status

Holland Park High students are able to participate in a wide range of programs and activities in academics, sports, and cultural subjects.

What are the school fees at Holland Park State High School?

Janine Mergler is a veteran Queensland teacher, graduating from QUT with a BEd majoring in Social Sciences. After many years in the classroom, Janine moved on to academia.
