Try these Yummy and Easy Dinner Ideas

Sometimes you just need a few ideas to get you started so that you will be inspired. Or perhaps you’ve opened your refrigerator and wondered what you can feed the kids with minimum effort? I have this list on my refrigerator and when I need inspiration, I just look for something that ‘fits the bill’. They are not fabulously creative – they are not recipes – they mostly just ensure that we get fed. (Cooking is so NOT my thing!)

Super easy ideas that you can throw together in 5 – 10 minutes.

  1. Cheesy pasta and veg
  2. Homemade pizza – ham/chicken &/or sweetcorn, tomato, zucchini, olives, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, egg

  3. Omelette/scrambled egg/poached egg on toast
  4. Steamed veg with grated cheese
  5. Chicken/cheese/avocado on toast – grilled
  6. Ham/cheese/tomato/pineapple on toast
  7. Tuna & sweetcorn & mayo pasta
  8. Tuna/ham/chicken/salmon salad – lettuce, tomato, cheese, sweetcorn, mushroom, egg, avocado, grated carrot
  9. Bought roast chicken & salad wraps – lettuce, tomato, cheese, cucumber

Favourite dinner ideas:

These ideas are crowd pleasers at my house – some take longer than others, but they are assured of a good response.

  1. Roast – pork/lamb
  2. Chicken & vegetable skewers – alternate chicken with zucchini, mushrooms, capsicum, pineapple, eggplant
  3. Jacket potato – tuna & sweetcorn or ham and pineapple

  4. Tacos – mince, diced tomato, grated cheese, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream
  5. Nachos – mince, diced tomato, grated cheese, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream
  6. Spaghetti Bolognese – with fresh basil
  7. Lasagne – chips & vegetables
  8. Salmon pasta bake
  9. Chow Mein – mince, snow peas, grated carrot, red capsicum & noodles
  10. Butter chicken/prawns & rice
  11. Chicken Korma & rice
  12. Pork chops & vegetables

Slow cooker favourites:

When the day is going to be busy and you just need it to be ready on time, hot and tasty.

  1. Apricot chicken
  2. Beef goulash
  3. Beef stroganoff
