Modern Teaching Aids Legendary Warehouse Sale – Cheap Educational Toys

Modern Teaching Aids Christmas Sale dates

It’s time.  That time.  The time that Brisbane mums come together for the toy sale of the year…. Modern Teaching Aids at Strathpine’s annual warehouse sale. You may know them as The Toy Outlet, it’s the big toy shop at 45 South Pine Road at Strathpine. This is not just about going to a toy shop though, this is an educational toy lovers dream with stocking stuffers starting at 50 cents and some big ticket prices at up to 70% off.

Picture a warehouse full of educational toys for all ages, all areas of interest, including VTECH best sellers and quirky little oddities. They’re already uber cheap. Then picture them all at a further 30% off. I’m excited!

What is Modern Teaching Aids and why does it sound familiar?

Modern Teaching Aids (and their retail store The Toy Outlet) supply tons of Brisbane childcare centres, after school care centres and primary school classes with educational, EYLF approved toys. They stock lots of science toys, building toys, craft materials, Little Tykes and the VTECH range of educational and interactive toys. If your kid is banking on Transformers or My Little Pony this Christmas, you won’t find it at this sale. If you’re after those toys that outlast the trends, this is the toy sale for you.  Every year they have a warehouse sale where they clear tens of thousands of educational toys are bargain basement prices.

What’s different this year?

Modern Teaching Aids Toy Outlet Sale
Two years ago, I went dead on opening time on the first day. I had to park miles away, take my child in a stroller and stand in line in the heat for ages. Those who’d arrived in the wee hours had already snapped up all the $50 outdoor toddler play gyms and the $10 play room furniture! Don’t get me wrong, I got tons of good stuff ($182 for so many toys I literally couldn’t get it all in my car, my sister had to rescue me), but it was a tough morning, especially with a little one in tow.

Frankly, in previous years, there’s been a bit of a stampede on Friday morning. This year, to avoid long waits and overcrowding, MTA is going to be bringing out new “bargains” all weekend. The event goes from 8.30am Friday through to Sunday and they promise to have “fresh” bargains at all times.

Cheap educational, creative and developmental toys

Tips for going to the Modern Teaching Aids Warehouse Sale

  • Bring a bottle of water
  • Bring cash and card (this means you can jump on the shortest queue)
  • Bring something to carry your bargains (it’s not really a shopping trolley friendly space – bring a big bag)
  • If you can avoid bringing kids, do so.
  • The big sale happens in the warehouse behind The Toy Outlet store but there’s also good stuff in the store – don’t neglect it!
  • There is parking near the warehouse entrance but please be mindful that there are lots of kids around and it’s a hard little track to navigate.
  • Have a set shopping list in mind. There is SO MUCH good stuff cheap that you’ll do what I always do and go home with ten times what you need.
  • It’s great for stocking up for birthdays for the coming year but you can spend wayyyyy too much wayyyy too easily!

We love Modern Teaching Aids (The Toy Outlet) warehouse sales because although the stock the very best, most in demand developmental, creative brands, you just get cheap educational toys!
