Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology offers a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) degree via full-time (3 years) or part-time (6 years) attendance. First-year units will introduce students to the basic elements of marketing and then provide opportunities to build upon this knowledge with real-life applications and scenarios.

QUT facilitates work placement in a range of settings including consultancies, government, corporate settings and community groups.

Upon successful completion of the degree, students may meet the requirements for membership of professional associations such as the Australian Marketing Institute and the Market Research Society of Australia.

In Semester 1 2023, the lowest adjusted ATAR scores to which QUT made an offer was 70. Study costs for 2023 are $15,000 per full-time year (96 credit points). Fees for 2024 are yet to be announced. If you achieve an ATAR/selection rank of 70.00 or higher (including any adjustments) and satisfy all other admission requirements, you are guaranteed an offer for this course.

University of Queensland

Marketing is not available as a stand-alone degree at the University of Queensland. Students will need to enrol in the Bachelor of Business Management and complete a Marketing Major if they wish to study there. The course takes 3 years full-time to complete or part-time equivalent. In 2023, an ATAR of 76 or above was required for course entry with an annual course fee of $13,890. University of Queensland graduates may also be eligible for membership in the Australian Marketing Institute and/or the Market Research Society of Australia.

Griffith University

A Bachelor of Business with a Major in Marketing is available through Griffith University at either the Nathan and/or Gold Coast campus, or online. Choosing Marketing as a single major gives students specialist knowledge in this field or they may choose to diversify by undertaking a second major.

The course takes 3 years full-time to complete or 6 years part-time equivalent. In 2023, an ATAR of 67.00 or above was required for course entry with an annual course fee of $14,500.

University of the Sunshine Coast

The University of the Sunshine Coast offers a Bachelor of Business and you can choose to graduate with either a major or double major in Marketing. The course structure includes introductory and advanced business subjects and offers additional subjects in marketing if you’re wishing to attain specialisation.  You can choose to study at the Sunshine Coast or Moreton Bay campus or online.

The course takes 3 years full-time to complete or 6 years part-time equivalent. In 2023, an ATAR of 50.00 or above was required for course entry. To work out the annual course fee you will need to work out the subjects you wish to study which are individually priced (estimate $12,904).

Need an alternative entry pathway?

If your child did not receive an ATAR high enough to directly enter a Bachelor of Business Marketing at their choice of Brisbane universities, there are other entry pathways. Bridging programs are available at each university mentioned and completing one of these can meet prerequisites for university entry. Alternatively, completing a Diploma of Marketing at TAFE or an Open Colleges Diploma of Business Online or Private College Business Diploma Online, may also be something to consider if you need to improve your ranking prior to enrolling at a university.
