Spring Hill Baths | Year-Round Swimming for Families in the City!

For character and charm there’s no finer swimming pool than Spring Hill Baths. Built in 1886, Spring Hill Baths still retains its classic and colourful Victorian-era changing cubicles and grandstand seating, but it has undergone a few changes since Queen Victoria’s day – Spring Hill Baths now boasts heating to its (almost) 25 metre indoor swimming pool, keeping it a pleasant 28 to 32 degrees all year round.

Where to find Spring Hill Baths:

14 Torrington Street, Spring Hill

What’s there?

Brisbane’s oldest in-ground public bathing pool! The pre-metric 23.43m indoor pool is heated all year round, making it a pleasant destination whatever the season. It also boasts a kiosk providing barista-made coffee, snacks and swimwear.

Great! When is it open?

Spring Hill Baths opens Monday–Thursday 6:30am to 7pm, Friday 6.30am to 6pm, Saturday 8am to 5pm, and Sunday 8am to 1pm. Closed on public holidays.

Is Spring Hill Baths accessible?

Because of its age and heritage listing Spring Hill Baths has not been modified for wheelchair access or the addition of disabled facilities. However, it does honour the Queensland Government Companion Card scheme allowing free entry for anyone accompanying a person with a disability requiring attendant care.

Prices:

Adults, aged 15 years and over, $5.40; children aged two-14 years, $3.90; non-swimming spectator, $2.50. Discounted family passes and multiple visit passes are available.

Entry Conditions:

Children aged ten years or younger must be accompanied by a responsible supervising adult at all times.

Anything else?

History fans will love the original features of Spring Hill Baths, including Victorian signs, engraved foundation stone, and period facade. Spring Hill Baths has an ambience that can’t be surpassed!
Spring Hill Baths offers casual swimming, and swimming lessons provided by Rackley Swimming School for children and adults. Parking is on street only but Spring Hill Baths is just a short walk from Roma Street Station, and the free Spring Hill bus loop stops nearby.
