Local Queensland beer and wine

There’s just something about a cheeky glass set against a beautiful, natural backdrop. Something about that mountain air that really fills your lungs while you sample the latest and the greatest in what QLD beer and wine has to offer. At the variety of wineries, vineyards and distilleries in the Mt Tamborine district you’re bound to find that perfect drop.

Tamborine Mountain Distillery

This unique family business relocated from Tasmania in 1992. Opposed to using chemical sprays on fruit trees, they creatively elected to ‘convert’ the product into something ‘productive’. I can’t think of a more productive use of fruit than to ferment it!

Tamborine Mountain Distillery prides itself on being Australia’s most internationally-awarded Distillery and the proof is in the (alcoholic) pudding. Open 7 days from 10am to 5pm they also offer tastings at the Eagle Heights Mountain Resort and at Thunderbird Park.

Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery – QLD Wine Centre

This charming winery is perfectly positioned in picturesque grounds and boasts the Hinterland’s largest range of wines. A glass or two (or three) will go sublimely with an expertly matched dish from the world-class kitchens. The Cellar Door staff have extensive knowledge that covers everything Chardonnay to Verdelho. You can go on tours (eight wineries per day via the QLD Wine Centre) or sit and sip in the Heritage Bar. This one of the Mt Tamborine vineyards not to be missed!

Mount Tamborine Winery and Homestead

Mount Tamborine Winery and Homestead offers an excellent wine club experience that you won’t regret participating in. They are open every day from 8:30am-4pm (closed Good Friday) and offer delivery to anywhere in the Mt Tamborine region. They even have a sophisticated online system which will allow you to peruse purchases without worrying about your pronunciation on some of the trickier names! (Sav-ing-nong-blank, anyone?) One of the online Mt Tamborine vineyards – #winning!

Heritage Winery

Heritage Winery - Mt Tamborine vineyards

It’s open seven days a week so come and enjoy not only a glass but a plate of some of the most delicious food in the region.

Mason Wines

Expert cellar door staff are ready to guide you through an incredibly extensive range that is sure to satisfy even the fussiest of wine drinkers. Hinterland views are there to be enjoyed from the vast decking and log fires are ready to snuggle in front of during the winter months. Group bookings can combine tours with two course lunches or a chef’s selection of platters. There is also a private function room available if you’re hosting an event. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
