Baseball is a fantastic summer team sport for kids of all ages. Boys and girls as young as 4 can start with T-Ball and Rookie Ball, and they can keep playing through Little League right into adulthood. Baseball is a great activity if you want your Gold Coast child to learn teamwork and cooperation, improve hand-eye coordination and stay fit and healthy.

Check out our list below and our handy reference map to find a junior baseball club near you! Sign-on days and try-outs are generally in August with matches played in the summer season, October to March.

How does it work?

T-Ball and Rookie Ball are entry-level programs for kids from 4-9 years of age. No prior experience is required and the program is designed to be heaps of fun. In T-Ball (U8) players hit the ball from a tee without being pitched to. InRookie Ball (players aged 7-9) boys and girls are pitched to by an adult, improving their coordination and learning to hit a moving target. Junior Baseball and Little League are for players U14 to U20 who want to play competitively. Players aged from 10 to 12 years can play opposing teams in Little League before progressing to Junior Baseball Leagues in high school.

Junior baseball Gold Coast – batter up!

Hope this helped! Swing, batter batter, swing!

Maybe baseball isn’t for your child. What about soccer? Or basketball? Or maybe they can’t choose, so why not do a multi-sport program?
