Trick or Treat: Halloween 2023 is on its way!

Now, I don’t know about you, but in our family the promise of getting dressed up in a costume and eating copious amounts of candy is just far too appealing to ignore, so for like-minded families,s we’ve thrown together a comprehensive list of the best kid-friendly Halloween events on and around the Gold Coast.

You could also get your kids into the Halloween spirit this year by teaching them the real meaning of Halloween.

Thursday 28 September

Spooky Creations | Varsity Lakes

Come and join this Halloween-inspired school holiday workshop, perfect for children aged 6-12 years old! This workshop is led by a skilled creative arts therapist and blends art, play, and learning for a truly fun experience.

Kids are encouraged to dress in their favourite Halloween costume if they would like to add an extra touch of fun to the workshop.

Throughout the session, children will engage in captivating and entertaining activities. They will have the chance to unleash their creativity through Halloween-themed art projects using a variety of materials like paint, paper, and markers. These artistic endeavours not only foster creativity but also introduce them to different art techniques.

There will be fun party games and snacks too!

Friday 27 October

Halloween Disco | Coomera

Returning for another year is the free Halloween Spooky Disco at The Park!

Bowling, Putt Putt, Arcade, Kitchen and Bar are all open to the public.

As this event is extremely popular, reserved seating must be booked for $5/seat. Please book seating together or email to be seated together no later than Monday October 23rd. info@the-park.com.au

For $10 per child, kids can enjoy the free disco PLUS all they can eat pizza and a bottomless soft drink. The event runs from 5.30pm – 7.30pm with prizes for the best dressed. The theme of the event is The Adam’s Family. Find out more here

All Properties Group Halloween Movie Night | Coomera

Watch the animated Halloween movie ‘Scarygirl’ at Event Cinemas Coomera and enjoy a spookily fun night. The screening is FREE and you can even enjoy a free choc top with the movie! Book your tickets here

Sunday 29 October

Fang-tastic Family Night | Southport

Come along to Frenzy’s on the 29th of October where you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner kicking off from 5pm, and a spooktacular kids show by LOL Crew from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Make sure to get the kids dressed up in their most ghoulish attire, as best-dressed prizes will be awarded to those with the best costumes.

Halloween Party | Southport 

It’s a BOO-TIFUL Night for Halloween at the Main Beach Southport Yacht Club’s Kids Halloween Party!

Come and let’s have a skele-TON of fun and treats! Wear your costume and win prizes for the best dressed. With DJs, face painting and loads of lollies, you’ll have a howling good time!

Parents must book in too. PARENTS: $15 includes meal voucher for $15. KIDS: $25 includes disco, games, kids meal, lollies and soft drink.

Currumbin Wildlife Fangtuary | Currumbin

Enter Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s lair after dark and enjoy three spook-tacular nights of Halloween family fun…if you dare!

From October 26 – 28, guests of all ages are invited to dress up in their Halloween scariest for a frightfully good time.

Ride the train, see baby dinosaurs up close and sink your fangs into delicious treats.

Little monsters aged 3-13 will love our haunted house, trick or treating, as well as much more terror-ific fun.

Seaworld Spooky Nights | Gold Coast

Friday and Saturday nights from 13 – 28 October, the kids can head to Seaworld to have some extra spooky fun after dark. Sea World Spooky Nights is Sea World’s all new after hours family event! The event starts at 5:30pm and transforms the park into a Spooky land filled with light displays, laser shows and all kinds of spooky entertainment! Village Roadshow One Pass Holders receive one free entry to Sea World Spooky Nights. 

Fright Nights | Gold Coast

Movie World is hosting Fright Night events on Friday and Saturdays through October, starting from 6th Oct. With terrifying rides, gory entertainment and killer clowns, be prepared to be scared witless!

You can choose your thrill level from mild to moderate or max, and there are plenty of upgrades to enhance the fun. The event is pretty creepy, and the advice on their website is that it’s not recommended for children under 14 so it’s definitely one for the older kids. Find out more here.

Host your own Halloween Gold Coast street party

Halloween is the perfect occasion to get a neighbourhood street party together particularly if you’re not keen to venture too far afield but still want to have some Halloween fun. It doesn’t have to be huge and it’s easy to organise. Here’s how to host a Halloween Street Party.
