It’s that time of year, Carols by Candlelight. There’s no better way to shake off the bah humbugs than a good dose of Christmas carols with flameless candles lighting up angelic little faces. We’ve put together a list of the very best places to enjoy Christmas Carols, Gold Coast to Byron Bay in 2021.

Get ready for some of the biggest and best family-friendly Christmas carols on the Gold Coast all the way to Byron this year.

Thursday 3 December

Carols on the Green | Sanctuary Cove

A stellar lineup of local performers will sing on the night including the Paradise Carollers, Amazon Blue, Chad Trent & Becky Keen, and Vanessa Krummenacher and the event will include the much loved and celebrated Rotary Buggy Parade.  Carols on the Green is a family-friendly event will conclude with a special appearance by Santa and Rudolf.

Friday 4 December

Studio Village Community Carols  | Studio Village

Take your family along to Studio Park to enjoy a merry dose of Christmas Carols. Santa has passed quarantine and will be at the Carols with his friends Frosty, Rudolph and his favourite Elf. Free glowsticks on arrival for the kids. BYO picnic as there will be no food vendors this year.

Saturday 5 December

Tugun Lights Up | Tugun

Tugun Lights Up Christmas Carols

Tugun Lights Up returns this year for its eighth annual celebration! Picture streets lit up with colourful fairy lights and quality live music playing close to the beach. Dine under the stars at one of the fantastic local cafes or restaurants, check out the local window displays and special offers, or visit the Christmas market stalls. There will be plenty of children’s entertainment on offer throughout the program with Santa making a special appearance!

Pacific Pines Christmas Carols | Pacific Pines

Head along and join in the Pacific Pines Christmas Carols at Central Park, where they will have rides for the kids, face painting, market stalls, food vendors, and great live entertainment.

Gold Coast Mayor’s Virtual Christmas Carols | Online

The ninth annual Mayor’s Christmas Carols is turning virtual! The FREE virtual family-friendly event will be simulcast on the Gold Coast City’s webpage, on their Facebook event page and aired on 102.9 Hot Tomato at 6pm on Saturday 5 December. The all-star line-up will include headline acts from previous Gold Coast Mayor’s Christmas Carol events including, singing superstars Kate Ceberano and Anthony Callea.

Monday 7 December

Currumbin Christmas Carols | Currumbin

Currumbin Community Christmas Carols is a family-friendly event bringing the joy of Christmas to residents. A selection of fun Children’s activities are on from 4.30pm including arts and crafts, inflatable slide, plate spinning and a flower sticks workshop. Stage entertainment will commence at 5.30pm with a traditional Christmas concert including headline act ‘Vintage Divas’, dancing, children’s stage show and a Santa appearance. The evening will conclude with a spectacular laser light show. This is an approved COVID Safe Event and admission is by FREE ticket only.

Thursday 10 December

North Burleigh Carols by the Sea | North Burleigh

Enjoy a wonderful afternoon and evening of FREE Christmas entertainment and fun at Ed Hardy Park this December. ‘North Burleigh Carols by the Sea’ will provide a festive mixture of children’s activities, food trucks and markets from 4pm to 6pm; followed by Christmas staged entertainment including Carols, Community Groups and live music from 6pm to 8pm.

Friday 11 December

Byron Bay’s Carols by the Sea | Online

The Byron Carols by the Sea will premiere on Friday 11th December – watch this space for further details in the coming weeks!

Saturday 12 December 

Nerang Celebrates Christmas | Nerang

Nerang Celebrates Christmas

This event is so much fun for the whole family with afternoon entertainment, face painting and rides from 3pm.  Enjoy a variety of food vendors, fairy floss, and a sausage sizzle. Just bring your picnic blanket to enjoy a magical Christmas experience. Find out more here.

Ormeau Carols | Online

The Ormeau Carols show is going online this year! Organisers invite you to host a COVID safe street party, home gathering, or any type of celebration you can think of, and let their Carols show be the entertainment for the night!

Carols by the Lake | Robina

Celebrate Christmas this year with ‘Carols by the Lake’ at The Promenade, Robina Town Centre. Enjoy loads of free family fun including live music, kids activities, roving entertainment, Christmas carols, a visit from Santa, performances by community groups and so much more! Local restaurants and businesses at Robina Town Centre will also be serving up some festive food and special offers.

Sunday 13 December

Coolangatta Christmas Carols | Coolangatta

Coolangatta Christmas Carols

Coolangatta’s Queen Elizabeth Park will come alive with the spirit of Christmas on Sunday 13 December, with the free Coolangatta Christmas Carols. Sing along to your favourite carols, enjoy spectacular festive performances, and settle in for a magical night under the Southern Gold Coast stars. Santa will be making an appearance by plane with plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The Coolangatta Christmas Markets and food trucks will be open from 4pm to 8pm (Qld time), with the stage show starting at 5.30pm. The event includes a fantastic festive fireworks display. Booking required!

Elanora Community Christmas Carols | Elanora

Elanora Community Christmas Carols will be going ahead again – hooray! Kids will love the jumping castle, food trucks, puppet show, local community group items, and more! Santa will be there to greet at the gate from 5pm, carols start at 6pm. This is a FREE event hosted by Cross and Crown Church – bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the fun!

  • Where: Elanora State School
  • Time: From 5pm

Wednesday 16 December

Carols on the Broadwater | Southport Yacht Club

Join in at Southport Yacht Club for a family fun evening of Christmas Carols at Carols on the Broadwater overlooking the stunning Marina and Broadwater. Enjoy live carols, face painting, games, and carolers. A $15 Kids plated dinner (3yrs – 12yrs) & $30 Adults – Plated dinner (1 choice of 3 options) is available.  Make sure you stay around and watch Santa’s Jetpack show! His big departure will be a night to remember for all. Bookings essential.

    Just a quick update –

    Elanora Community Christmas Carols will be going ahead again in 2020 – hooray! Sunday 13th December @ Elanora State School oval. Jumping castle, food trucks, puppet show, local community group items and more! Santa will be there to greet at the gate from 5pm, carols start at 6pm. Free event hosted by Cross and Crown Church – bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the fun!
