Louise of Cara Counselling invites you to take the first step and access counselling at her place, your place, or in the great outdoors!
How Cara Counselling may help you
If youโre reading this, chances are youโre a parent with a million and one things to worry about, and very little time! You may be having difficulty with the family/work/life balance, worried about changes at work or at home, ready for a career change, needing help with household clutter, anxiety, stress or depression, in need of some parenting support, or any combination of the above.
Cara Counselling can help. Using a combination of skills, experience, and qualifications in counselling and psychology, Louise works with you in a collaborative relationship, supporting you to gain insights, explore options, set goals, make decisions and take action to address your concerns. Itโs personalised, client focussed counselling, tailored to suit each individual.
Where counselling sessions take place
Louise has a very warm and welcoming counselling room in Aspley, North Brisbane. Or, if a traditional counselling environment is not your preference, how about a โWalk and Talkโ or a โTalk and Tidyโ?
What is a Walk and Talk?
Louise says, “In a Walk and Talk, we pick a park, put on comfy shoes, and have a stroll. I came up with the idea of the Walk and Talk while out walking myself; I find I can work through things better when Iโm walking, and I wanted to offer my clients the same benefits”. For some people, opening up is easier when youโre not sitting opposite your counsellor, or it simply feels better to be on the move when youโre feeling anxious. For parents with very young kids, being able to have them in a pram or stroller can make it easier to build time for counselling into their day. Louise recognises that her clients have different needs and challenges, and does her best to be flexible and responsive, with a focus on simply helping.
What is a Talk and Tidy?
In this session Louise comes to your home and provides counselling support, plus some hands-on input with tidying up or addressing clutter. “Being clear upfront that Iโm not a decluttering or organisational expert, I recognise that clutter has many negative outcomes, including poorer mental health, low subjective well-being, unhealthier eating, and less efficient thinking. If you have issues with clutter, I will help you to plan and make changes that are attainable for you. Or if you simply have your hands too full at home and feel that taking the time to go a counselling session would be more stressful, I can work alongside you to fold laundry and similar never ending tasks, while listening and supporting you with whatever youโre going through”.
Not sure what counselling will work best for you?
