The facilities at Banyo Library include: an after hours chute, disabled toilet, display television, meeting rooms, photocopier, toilet, wi fi, word processing and an Xbox.  The display television can be used for public viewing news and sport.  The meeting room is located upstairs and has the capacity to seat 20 – 40 people.  There is a kitchenette with a fridge and a hot water boiler.  There is also an OHP and DVD/TV.

Activities for children at Banyo Library

Banyo Library has many different events and shows throughout the year, especially during the school holidays.  The regular events for children include:

  • First 5 Forever Toddler Time; meet other parents and toddlers for a fun session of singing, clapping and dancing. Learn action rhymes and songs which will help your child’s pre-literacy, communication, language and social skills. Ideal for babies and toddlers aged 1-3 years. The First 5 Forever initiative is funded by the Queensland Government.

  • Babies, Books and Rhymes; meet other parents and babies for a fun session of singing, clapping and dancing. Learn songs and action rhymes to nurture your baby’s pre-literacy, communication, language and social skills. Ideal for babies and toddlers aged up to two years.

  • Children’s Storytime; experience the magic of storytime with your child at the library. This interactive session includes stories, songs and creative early literacy experiences for children. Ideal for children aged 2-5 years.
  • Homework Help; Help with homework is available for primary and high school students throughout the school term with the assistance of students from ACU. Bring your homework or join in one of our learning activities. No bookings required.
  • They also hold regular information sessions and workshops for adults on a wide range of topics.
