Ahhhh, remember the old days of roller-skating to music, hanging out with your friends and meeting new people? They’re still here!

Taking the family to Stafford Skate Centre is like a blast from the past. Tunes, games like limbo, skate-dancing. Cheap eats and drinks, places to relax and laugh and learn-to-skate and skill classes. There’s something here for everyone!

Their tag line is “Fun out of the Sun!” and you can find them at 280 Stafford Road, Stafford. They’re just before Stafford State School if you’re heading west from the entrance to the airport tunnel. It can be a bit trafficky and difficult to turn around here so try and make sure you plan your arrival outside of peak traffic times.

Families Tip: There’s a HUGE carpark in front of the building that’s shared with a dog-holiday shuttle, so if you time it right you might get to wave to some cute pooches going on holidays before you come in for a skate!

What facilities are available at Stafford Skate Centre?

Look, this place hasn’t changed much since we were all kids. There’s plenty of seating if you are a spectator both inside and outside in a dedicated courtyard. There are of course toilets for all genders. Due to the short opening hours (and to keep your entry costs down) they don’t sell a lot of food there outside of birthday parties. You’ll see in the photo above the selection – chocolate bars, ice-blocks and some hot food – chips etc.

Prams and wheelchairs should be okay to come through into the seating areas but it can be a tight fit when it’s busy.

Quick, get your skates on!

Stafford Skate Centre is a fun, old-fashioned, riotously good time for Brisbane families. It’s quick moving, entertaining and a real blast from the past. Get down there today!
