Southport Rock Pools

There’s so much to do in the Southport region with kids! The Rockpools at Southport have long been a destination for Gold Coast families to have some free fun in the sun. Locals who went along as kids are now taking their own kids! This destination truly has stood the test of time. Here’s the scoop for first timers…

Rockpools at Southport – a cool way to cool off!

The Rockpools play area is located within the Broadwater Parklands precinct. It’s PACKED with facilities for Gold Coast families to enjoy.

Some of the cool stuff you’ll find at Southport Rock Pools…

  • A playground with a huge jumping pillow!
  • Ride-on pedal trains!
  • A scooter and bike track! (Careful with smaller ones – this area can get busy)
  • A swimming lagoon and beach area!

Family friendly facilities at Southport Rock Pools

Here you’ll find plenty of toilet and change areas for families that are fully accessible. BBQ and picnic areas are plentiful as are shaded places to relax. A word of warning, though – this is a popular spot and it can get busy! We recommend an early arrival to stake out the best position.

There is parking around but it’s paid (unless you park safely in a neighbouring street and walk). Make sure you bring the gold coins with you so you don’t get pinged with a fine.

While the areas in the surrounds are dog friendly, The Rockpools at Southport are a no-dog zone so expect to be disappointed if you bring Fido along for the ride. There’s a locker hire area available so you can enjoy yourself without worrying about your valuables and there are plenty of cafe options in the surrounding areas.
