Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba for Kids

If you’re an outdoorsy family, you must add Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba to your list of places to visit. Originally a railway town on the line between Toowoomba and townships like Helidon, Ipswich and Brisbane, Murphy’s Creek Escape is a town rich with railway history and loads of fun for families.

With activities including camping, trail riding and swimming, Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba, just a 1 ½ hour drive from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway, is a little-known destination that really delivers a true Aussie outdoor experience.

Camping

Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba

Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba has camping options to suit all tastes. From powered to unpowered sites, remote sites that can be accessed by 4WD only, bushland sites to sites atop a canyon to family/group sites. There are also luxurious safari tents at Murphy’s Creek Hideaway for those who love a bit of glamping, but probably best for a child-free relaxing weekend.

Murphy’s Creek Escape is where your camping adventures await with perfect spots to relax, have fun and explore the neighbouring White Mountain National Park.

Murphy’s Creek Escape is your home away from home, camping style. It has everything from a camp kitchen, BBQ’s, washing machines and dryers, amenities block with hot showers, children’s play area, onsite shop and wine cellar to a dog run and horse yards so you can bring your horse (how cool is that)!

Trail Riding

There’s trail riding for everyone at Murphy’s Creek. If you have motorbike enthusiasts in your home, they’ll love the Murphy’s Creek annual trail riding trek run by Motorcycling Queensland in June.

And then there’s trail riding of the pedalling type, mountain biking. Mountain biking is just one of the many activities on offer at Murphy’s Creek Escape.

Perhaps trail riding of the equine type is more your family’s thing. Spring Bluff Horse Riding offer trail rides through hills and pockets of magnificent bushland on their 100-acre property. Although, if you have a horse of your own and keep them in the horse yard at Murphy’s Creek Escape, you can enjoy as much trail riding as you like through the neighbouring White Mountain National Park.

Swimming at Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba

What’s camping without a bit of swimming in the local water hole! Grab an ice-cream from the onsite store at Murphy’s Creek Escape and take it down to the inland beach where you can enjoy sitting on the sand before splashing about in the creek.

Murphy’s Creek Toowoomba is a different sort of getaway, one that allows you and your kids to reconnect with nature and enjoy all the wonders of the Aussie bush.
