How much sleep do we need?

One of the most important things parents (and lots of non-parents) want to know is ‘How much sleep should we be getting?’ A new research programme complied over 300 sleep studies to ascertain how much sleep we needed for each different age and stage of  our human development. We know little ones need far more sleep than older children and we are always looking for sleep and settling tips, but how much do our older children need? And do you think you are getting enough? Janine Mergler is a veteran Queensland teacher, graduating from QUT with a BEd majoring in Social Sciences. After many years in the classroom, Janine moved on to academia.
