Where is Laurel Bank Park?

Hill St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350

What will we see there?

Scented Gardens

Laurel Bank Park’s “Scented Gardens” was purpose built to help blind children and adults to enjoy the gardens. The idea was put forward by the Downs Association of the Blind and the resulting garden covers half a hectare of Laurel Bank Park’s four and a half hectares. The Scented Gardens feature gorgeous fragrant blooms as well as scented herbs and shrubs, such as basil and lemon myrtle, and a gazebo for visitors to enjoy.

Maple Walk

The kids will love walking, running and jumping below the grand maple trees of Laurel Bank Park. Beautiful through all seasons, the impressive mature trees will be admired by the whole family.

Children’s Ornament Garden

The Children’s Ornament Garden is a fun feature of the park. Toddlers and kids will love the various statues hiding amongst the hedges as well as the flowers and plants purposely selected for their enjoyment. The gardens even feature a caterpillar hedge!

Thomas the Tank Engine Train

A very popular feature of Laurel Bank Park is of course the Thomas the Tank Engine hedge. Thomas fans will love the train-like hedge, complete with the characters friendly familiar face. The “train” even features red park benches that act as carriages – toddlers and kids are sure to have a blast!

Croquet Lawns

A unique feature of the park is the croquet lawns. Perfect for an afternoon activity for the family or even a Alice in Wonderland birthday party! For something a little different the Darling Downs Croquet Club play in the Laurel Bank Park fields on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.

Laurel Bank Park is a joy for all members of the family all year round! The mature trees transform each season, offering a brand new beautiful experience. Whether you are looking to amuse sports fans, picnic lovers or even Thomas the Tank Engine fans, the kids will love a day out to Laurel Bank Park this weekend.
