Curriculum and extracurricular activities offered:

St Pius teaches English, Maths, Science, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), the Arts, Health and Physical Education, Technology, Cultural Literacy and Languages (LOTE) and Religious Education. The curriculum provides a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy skills while providing opportunities for students to explore and integrate those skills using inquiry-based learning strategies.

The school also provides Personal Development Education, and develops study/research skills and social skills.

Extensive sporting opportunities are available at St Pius. Students can represent the school in swimming, athletics and cross-country. Training is also available for students wishing to participate in District and Catholic Zone inter school competitions. Students in Years 3 & 4 take part in a weekly Interschool sports program during Term 2.

Through an affiliation with the Bramble Bay District Sports Association, students can try netball, touch football, tennis, soccer, hockey, cricket and rugby league. There are also options for karate-do, martial arts, and square dancing.

Facilities at St Pius Catholic Primary School:

St Pius Catholic Primary School has desktop computers and wireless computer networking throughout the school. Classrooms have interactive whiteboards, data projectors, digital video and camera devices, and visualisers. There’s also a bank of laptops and iPads for classroom use, as well as an IT Lab.

The school has a multi-purpose hall, a pool, tennis courts, netball courts and an oval.
