Our Lady of the Angels’ is a Catholic School that aims to prepare students for their future by teaching them to think and work cooperatively in an environment of joy, service and respect. Catholic tradition is the foundation of the school community, which nurtures a love of life and learning.

The school uses the latest tools of technology and helps students develop problem solving skills through programs that are relevant, and also meet the needs of individual students. Each day, time is dedicated to teaching and learning literacy. The school also has a dedicated numeracy block and is part of the Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) Project.

Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

The school curriculum is based on Queensland Syllabus Guidelines with nine key learning areas of Mathematics, English, Science, Cultural Literacy, Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE), Physical Education and Health, Technology, the Arts and Religious Education.

Our Lady of the Angels also encourages students to become involved in a range of other extra-curricular activities.

Music classes are held for all students from Prep to Year 6. In addition, students can undertake tuition for a variety of instruments on a user pays basis. The school has a junior choir, senior choir, band and strings ensemble that compete in Eisteddfods and perform for community events.

A comprehensive public speaking and debating program is available for students in senior classes. Students debate other schools and take part in the prestigious Queensland Debating Union Junior Competition.

Teaching staff provide classes in media one afternoon per week during Terms 2 and 3. This is an extension program, separate from the classroom curriculum, and is offered on a user pays basis.

The school also offers a weekly Chess Club with specialist instructions for students from Years 1-6.

Facilities at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Primary School:

Our Lady of Angels has multi-purpose learning centres and air-conditioned learning spaces with the latest technology.

Outdoor spaces include a full-size playing field and large sealed area with shade cover.

Other Information

There is a camp program for senior students held in different venues each year according to the specific needs of the students in these classes.

Our Lady of the Angels is a co-educational primary school on the north-side of Brisbane with a current enrolment of 569 from Prep to Year 7. Our school offers a contemporary approach to teaching and learning, a high standard of integrated technology, many extra curricula activities and the benefits of being a high quality inclusive Catholic school. Our Lady of the Angels promotes a rounded education that encourages personal growth based on Christian values. We encourage students to develop a knowledge of other cultures, languages and environmental and social considerations. Students are encouraged to participate as fully as they can in the life of the school.
