Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities Offered

St Joseph’s integrates music lessons into its core curriculum for all students from Prep to Year 6. The school provides instrumental tuition in piano, strings, and brass through support from Mary MacKillop College. Students from Year 3 can also join the school choir.

A specialist art teacher offers lessons to all students from Prep to Year 6. Students’ artwork is showcased in the Creative Arts Centre and throughout the school.

As part of the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) curriculum, students in Years 4-6 learn Italian.

In addition to academics, students participate in Interschool Sport and Athletics and have the option to learn tennis. Other extracurricular activities include Chess Club, Gardening Club, Marathon Club, Library Monitoring, and Mandarin Language.

Centacare operates the After School Hours Care Service at St Joseph’s School. Located in the Multi-purpose Room, this service accommodates up to 30 children each afternoon, from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday during school terms.
