St Joseph’s School in Nundah strives to be innovative and creative in providing a high-quality inclusive Catholic education. As part of the Brisbane Catholic Education community, the school receives extensive support that enables it to offer a broad-based curriculum.

The school motto is “to love, to care, to give”. This fosters growth in students and reflects the school’s efforts to Make Jesus Real through the actions and attitudes of the whole school community.

Infrastructure upgrades and refurbishments in recent years provide better opportunities for the school to deliver a vibrant, quality curriculum that encourages students to be lifelong learners.

Curriculum and extracurricular activities offered:

St Joseph’s offers music lessons for all classes, from Prep to Year 6, as part of the core curriculum. In addition, all students have access to instrumental tuition in piano, strings and brass, through the support of Mary MacKillop College. Students can also join the school choir from Year 3.

The school has a specialist art teacher providing lessons to all students from Prep to Year 6. Student work is featured in the Creative Arts Centre and displayed around the school.

As part of the Languages Other Than English (LOTE) subject, students in Years 4-6 learn Italian.

Students take part in Interschool Sport and Athletics and can also learn tennis.

The school offers a number of other activities including Chess Club, Gardening Club, Marathon Club, Library Monitoring and Mandarin Language.

Facilities at St Joseph’s School Nundah:

Centacare runs the After School Hours Care Service at St Joseph’s School. Situated in the Multi-purpose Room it provides care for 30 children each afternoon between 3pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday school terms only.
