The Bracken Ridge Lions are holding their monthly train day this Sunday 18 April from 9am – 1pm.
Everyone we talk to loves this cheap and fun family event! Kids and their adults can ride the steam and electric miniature trains from 9am to 1pm at McPherson Park, Denham Street, Bracken Ridge at a cost of $2 a ride or 10 rides for $10.
The track officially opened in 1996 so the Bracken Ridge Lions have certainly brought their fair share of joy to the community over the years.
The Bracken Ridge Central Steam/Electric Railway is proudly run and operated by the Bracken Ridge Central Lions Club, with all proceeds going back to the community. In the past, funds have been donated to the Premier’s Flood Relief Fund, Lions Club Foundation, Childhood Cancer Institute, Scouts Australia, Qld Police Sandgate Bike Squad, Sandbag Sandgate, local School Bursaries and School Chaplaincy programs.
Please keep in mind this event is coordinated by volunteers who deserve to be thanked for their community contribution. We know you’ll be sure to show our collective gratitude to the Bracken Ridge Lions for this great, low-cost community activity.
Families Magazine is online and in print, all about things to do with toddlers, kids and teens in Brisbane. An A4 glossy magazine printed every 2 months for families with kids aged 0 - 17 and distributed in places where families are across Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.
In the spirit of reconciliation Families Magazine acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
