Brisbane Arts Theatre’s Children’s and Teen’s Workshops

For 60 years, Brisbane Arts Theatre has been offering youth drama workshops that have become an integral part of the Brisbane community. These workshops cater to children from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the vibrant multicultural makeup of the area.

At Brisbane Arts Theatre, the focus is on nurturing the growth of each student while fostering a deep love for theatre. They believe that the performing arts are about participation, engagement, self-expression, and most importantly—having fun. To encourage this, students are not graded, but instead receive regular verbal feedback aimed at helping them improve and develop their skills.

No prior experience or expertise is required to join their classes—everyone is welcome. Their dedicated team of tutors tailors each workshop to the individual needs and abilities of the students, ensuring they grow in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

The Workshops

Brisbane Arts Theatre currently offers three youth programs, each lasting 2 hours on Saturdays over a 10-week period, following Queensland school terms. At the end of each semester, they celebrate the students’ progress with a free showcase for family and friends.
