The Gathering returns for 2022!
The Gathering brings the wider community together across the weekend of 21-22 May 2022 in celebration of Celtic music, culture and performance. In the spirit of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and set against the historic backdrop of Ipswich, witness the colour and spectacle of the Queensland Pipe Band Spectacular, featuring 250 of Australia’s best pipe band musicians.
Celtic music, lost arts and a medieval re-enactment will also feature at this annual Highland gathering of Scottish, Irish, Welsh, French, Spanish, Cornish Celtic cultures. Listen to Celtic bands on the main stage, or perform yourself on the buskers stage.
You can also sample Haggis, dance the night away, learn how to play the bagpipes and even participate in the strong man style Highland games, featuring the famous caber toss. With so much more on offer it’s an action packed day of discovery for the whole family!
