Holiday Fun at State Library of Queensland

Enjoy a holiday adventure at the State Library and discover new ways to play during the school holidays!
Dive into the fascinating world of light and colour, science and art, as we explore our senses and the world around us in a science take-over. Discover the world of sand art in our Rangoli workshop or learn about the ancient craft of weaving. Plus, so much more to explore. All activities and workshops are FREE to join.
What’s on:
- Make it, change it, save it: imagine a new world with upcycled materials to build, play and create.
- Portrait play: Unleash your creativity on our portrait mural and celebrate the power of community and identity.
- E-galaxy: An immersive public art experience that will get you thinking about e-waste and the technology all around us.
- Transforming e-waste workshops*: Pull apart old computers and e-waste to make a unique art piece to take home.
- Sniffing colours*: An inclusive, disability led hands-on, nose-on workshop to paint a pet portrait.
- Connect to culture and country through art, sound and movement.
- Scavenger hunt: Do you love a challenge? Then get excited and jump into our scavenger hunt.
- Reading room: The perfect place to unwind with picture books and city views.
