Why Choose Sacred Heart School?

Sacred Heart is a co-educational school for Prep to Year 6. The school provides a holistic learning environment that is welcoming and encouraging.

The school’s educational program is based on Christian values that help develop students emotionally, socially and physically, as well as academically. Sacred Heat also incorporates the ‘You Can Do It’ program which helps develop students’ confidence, resilience, and ability to get along with each other.

Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

Sacred Heart School offers the Australian Curriculum in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, the Arts, Technologies, Healthy and Physical Education and Japanese, along with Religious Education.

There are several sports options for students. Students can learn tennis, swimming and gymnastics, and also take part in the Dance Cart Program, which assesses students against the dance strand of the Arts syllabus. The school also provides training in the lead-up to swimming, athletics and cross-country carnivals.

Students can take part in a Jazz and Contemporary Music Program, learning a range of instruments including piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums, as well as taking lessons in vocals. The school also has Junior and Senior Choirs for Years 2-6.

The school has Visual Arts competitions that all students can take part in.

For students who want to test their knowledge and understanding, there’s an opportunity to take part in ICAS Maths, English, Science and Computer Skills competitions.

Sacred Heart also has a Leadership Program for Years 5 and 6 students.

Facilities at Sacred Heart School:

All classrooms have permanent projector setups installed, and students in Years 4-6 can take part in the one-to-one laptop program. The school has a state-of-the art library for developing students’ literacy and technology skills.  There is a fully resourced Integrated Arts Centre, and a school hall with staged area for performances.

The grounds feature several shaded playgrounds, a soft fall play space with hopscotch and handball markings, and a large outdoor chess board. There are also tennis and basketball courts, and large grassed areas.

Sacred Heart offers Structured Play at lunchtime for students requiring social emotional support. It provides an opportunity for the child and an invited friend to have a sensory break.

The schools also runs a Perceptual Motor Program which helps students’ develop perceptions and understandings of themselves and their world through movement and motor experiences.
