Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI)
Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI) is a selective entry Independent Public School developing highly capable senior school students (Year 10, 11 and 12) on their preferred academic pathways.
QACI students study the integrated curriculum of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, with opportunities to develop specialisation in Dance, Design, Film, Music Theatre, and Visual Arts. Researched-based teaching and learning practices nurture students’ natural curiosity and the development of university research skills to enable opportunities for real-time industry experience.
As an IB World School QACI is part of a global learning community invested in the Mission: “to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” The IB works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging international education that encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. Immersed in the QUT Creative Industries precinct in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village QACI hosts two Open days during the year where prospective students can participate in cross-curricular creative workshops with QACI teachers and alumni. Upon offer of enrolment students are invited to continue their engagement with QACI’s world-class facilities including ongoing participation in workshops that will challenge and inspire their creative thinking skills. Whilst not imitating the stereotypical nature of a public-school environment, our building spans 7 levels and also includes a mezzanine gallery, a 350-seat theatre performance space, music and theatre studios, sound-proof recording studios, high end science laboratory, refectory and more.
