Holland Park State School is a co-educational school for Prep to Year 6. The school’s motto, ‘Striving for Excellence’ encourages students to be the best they can be doing the best they can do. This results in significant outcomes for students in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits.

Curriculum and Extracurricular activities offered:

Holland Park State School uses the Australian Curriculum for English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. 

The Queensland Curriculum is used for the Arts, Technology, Studies of Society & Environment (Political and Economic Systems), Health & Physical Education, and Languages Other Than English (LOTE).

Japanese (LOTE) is taught from Prep to Year 6, and all students participate in studies of Asia.

The school’s extra-curricular activities include an extensive music program with a school band, choirs, and tuition for strings, brass, woodwind and percussion.

Students can also take part in the Excellence Expo, the Chess Club and the Student Representative Council.

Holland Park State School also has a camping program and regular excursions and incursions to enhance classroom learning.

Facilities at Holland Park State School:

The school’s classrooms are well equipped and maintained, and feature interactive whiteboards and computers. The campus also has a further two computer labs.

Some of the buildings date back to 1929, when the school was opened, and newer blocks have been constructed in a way that respects this heritage aesthetic.

The school has a special music classroom and sound-proof practice room. There’s also a dedicated Prep precinct and a School Hall, along with a swimming pool, oval and two tennis courts.
