The Secret SuperHero Galaxy-traveling Family Band Show | Morningside | 20 February
20 February @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Brisbane Improv Festival presents The Secret SuperHero Galaxy-traveling Family Band Show & Jam on Saturday 20 Feb from 3pm-4pm.
Being in a family can be hard work! Especially when your family happens to be in a traveling band and none of you really know how to play your instruments. And then it’s even more especially hard when you all just might have superpowers but don’t necessarily feel comfortable being open about that. With a cast ranging in age from 9 to 50, the Secret SuperHero Galaxy-traveling Family Band Show is a silly, community-oriented, vaguely-musical improv piece that will hopefully connect with your family’s funny bones FROM ACROSS THE STARS.
The cast also invites you to come in before the show to play some all-inclusive improv games with them!
A family ticket is just $20 and valid for up to four family members (whatever that may be for you). This is a family event and suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Brisbane Improv Festival
Get laughing at the Brisbane Improv Festival – Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 of February 2021.
Over 4 nights the Ron Hurley Theatre and the Seven Hills Hub in Morningside will be the home of this brand new comedy festival, with live shows and workshops showcasing the best comedic talent from Brisbane and beyond.
Improvised comedy (improv) is a popular artform where everything is made up on the spot – think Whose Line Is It Anyway or Thank God You’re Here. It kickstarted the careers of many famous comedians like Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, and Amy Poehler. There’s no better way to kick off 2021 than with a festival that celebrates all things improv.
Presented by Brisbane comedy institution Big Fork Theatre, the festival’s program is jam packed with different shows each night. There’s improvised musicals, science fiction, true crime spoofs, and showcases bringing women, queer and multicultural performers to the fore. There’s something for everyone, all made up on the spot and all downright hilarious.
So go try something new, kick back with a show and have a laugh!
